it's also been the topic of discussion on this part of the board before I know that a numkber of folks got the call -- they seem to be following up as best they can -- no way to know who might show without returning an RSVP -- sposed to be a nice day, so the ride would be worth it I'll be sending a list of comments, suggestions and question to Peggy and Mary (I had planned to anyways -- no reason to put folks on the spot, and, this way, they'll be able to talk about the items after thinking about them a little) | ||

here's the list I sent to Peggy and Mary at BRAG -- (sorry for the length) Great things about BRAG: o The Adventure Atlas, (make tankbag-able again) o FUELL magazine, o Roadside Assistance program, and o MSF course reimbursement seem to be worth the price of membership to me. Suggestions for Changes: o BRAG website functionality = to that of HOG o I could do without Enthusiast magazine. o Post events events dates out as early as possible. HOG seems to have their events planned and announced with plenty of time for folks to plan around them. o I understand that BRAG is the riding side of BUELL, but perhaps BUELL would be willing to hear what their riders want from a BUELL motorcycle (examples: a new version of a S3T, bikes for taller riders, etc.). Maybe have a forum, email address or something along those lines for BRAG members to send in their ideas/suggestions. o Have more of a presence at P.O.T. for the BRAG Officers. I would be even willing to Volunteer services when it came to our area, and I would safely guess that there would be many BRAG Officers willing to help out at P.O.T. to get info out to new clubs. o As a BRAG member/Officer, I realize that there may never really be an understanding between HOG & BRAG (this I know being a member & officer of both). We as members/officers have to do what we can to make this work for us and define its identity as a serious riding organization. o National BRAG is looking into the possibility of an online calendar or event listing for local club events. You could go to the BRAG website and click on any club to see when, where, and what is going on in your area (like rides or other stuff). o More contact between local clubs on a "regional" level – can National help with this on a website, perhaps? o BRAG sponsored street riding school (not a racing school or track day) o HOG/BRAG co-membership -- full HOG plus Fuell for an additional fee ($10)? Vice versa? o Non dealer-specific chapters o Emulate the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry (and others, I’m sure) Member’s Night – insider’s view of the going’s on (with limits, of course) – something similar to the factory for locals o greatly increased email generation to keep interest, make it riding and technical in nature | ||

I was the one who requested discontinuing Enthusiast Magazine with BRAG membership. But powers that be want us all to migrate over to Harleys when we get old and that's one more way to try and brainwash us. They should know by now Buellers don't get old! Mike. | ||

Steve- I like that! I've called them Grandpa bikes for years and now if CJ is going to get one (someday), I'll call them Grandma bikes. As I was riding home from work today in the drizzle I was thinking "I love my bike". I just can't think of what I may want to get as mine is getting high in the mileage. | ||

Iomike, Yeah, I've called them that for quite some time. My brother borrowed one of the 1st 6cyl ones way back when from the Harley "fleet". Oddest bike I ever saw at the time. Still think they are a bit odd. Too much platic IMHO. One of my bosses had a newer one, and loved it. To each his own I guess... Back to the topic at hand. Was/Is this national brag meeting open to us 'normal' brag members? | ||

Hey, CJ; I need a cane to use after long rides, and that Honda Bulgemobile doesn't look too good to me! If you have to get a dresser, get something like a Load King. They're a LOT more motorcycle than than that Sofa-cade. | ||

Nice list Bomber (Glad some of what I had to say made it). I just wanted to add another idea. I have no idea about $$$ amounts, but seeing BRAG's name along with Buell sponsoring race events is good to see. Perhaps they could take a portion of the $$$ amount and use it to help promote BRAG Regionally/Locally. Buell at this time must know which dealers are supportive of ther product as well as supporting BRAG. Take some of that money and put it where it may grow. Help sponsor a BRAG/Sport event to get the word of both out. Whether it be a bike nite, track day, demo fleet weekend, organized ride, etc; the best way to get folks to understand what we are about is to get them involved. Everyone at Buell states that you have to ride a Buell to understand, so this logic falls into their frame work. Since we are a small organization, the folks in charge have to, not only, decide how to make it grow; but hopefully realize it will take $$$ (being business people, they already know this, it's just part of my ramble). They only other thing I would like to add is perhaps more regional events, these seem to be successful for the most part so work on making them more frequent.  | ||

Ya sure CJ!  You'll have a XB312 with sonic super boost and vacuum packed hyper expandable luggage for the shopping stops at the Ultra Buell Boutiques!! And ya'll still be searchin for the "ultimate" man (even tho ya may have demo'ed a couple by then) to ride along with ya but being the super track trained rider most guys will just follow your water vapor from the Buell XB 312! | ||

Gomo -- good idea! I just added it to my list -- if memory serves, HOG used to sponser a couple of drag racers -- of course, their revenue stream is much larger than BRAG's |
