Saturday was nice despite the early rain. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/4062/80060.html?1098732285 Those that did show up can thank me for stopping the rain (I wimped out and took the wife's SUV - murphy would have had it rain more otherwise). Anyhow, we had Erik to ourselves, litterally. I had a chance to hear him stop and hold a conversation, and it was truly nice. Times are good for him and the dude is definately living his dream now. Got a feeling he's only 3 into his 15 minutes of fame though.  Speaking of 3's, he confirmed for us that respect, and sales across the pond are very strong - to the point that pretty much the biggest problem these days is simply keeping up with demand. Sales are exceeding estimates and forecasts, which were basically building to meet the 3% percentile... so I think we can expect to see that soon grow as they are able to scale up production. And that now brings me to the photo. I wonder if some day we won't be looking back to find that that "3%" was the tail wagging the dog  | ||

BadS1 - How do you keep the drool off your lap. My daughter has a Mastiff and he is hell on the carpets and walls (and anything else that comes near him, especially my dachund), when she come to visit. | ||

Bcord, I used to have a Chessie. You just learn to catch the drool with a towel before it gets flung far and wide. And if flung you then learn how to peel it off the wall or elsewhere without much smearing. There's really an art to it. Just like Eskimos have many words for snow, drooling dog owners have their own words, like "argh not again" and "oops sorry about that" and "heh heh heh never liked them anyway heh heh have some more water boy good dog". | ||

used to make sure the boxers were in the kitchen BEFORE we scooped out some icecream, and the entitre family had to eat it there, as well -- the trails were pretty amazing, if we forgot! | ||

Thanks, Bomber. I grew up with all kinds of dogs but fell in love with a neighbor's Boxer when we lived in Germany. These are my family's 3rd and 4th, both males. The kids love 'em, and they just adore the kids. Perfect family dog IMHO. Can't imagine life without 'em. | ||

man- i worked for a friend who owns this wild mansion near me, and i live in a cottage on the estate for a couple years as the maintenance/security dude. anyway, guy had this kickass boxer with which he was rearing a son. this boxer was everyhwere on point with the kid, loved the kid unconditionally even when the crumbsnatcher was tugging on his ears or trying to ride him around. never have i seen such a great dog for a kid. boxer was on the little guy like white on rice, always...Squeaky Fromme couldna gotten a shot at that kid with "boris" on the job. one-dog secret service, man!  | ||

Boxers are a kids best friend, no doubt -- Schnapps, our long suffering stud, would sit while my little sister (toddler aged) would bit on his ears, and I mean HARD -- he'd just look up at ya with this look that said, "hey, it's a kid, whaterya gonna do?" I used to think that Schnapps was my dog -- with a fear years to reflect on it, I realize I was HIS boy -- | ||

It's the same way with ours. I'm constantly amazed at what they'll put up with from our kids...or the neigbor's. Our newest, Eddie, is a rescue. He was skinny as he11 when we got him--I couldn't imagine anyone treating *any* dog that way. But the first time we met him he wiggled and pretzeled (Boxers just can't seem to do anything else when excited) his bony body right up to my daughter and covered her with kisses...he had me lock, stock, and barrel. They completely steal your heart. Unlike many people, they take good care of it to the end. |
