Brutal crowd here.

Now I'm wondering... Should "humbucker" have made it through the profanity filter?

One man's distortion is another's accurate reproduction of a storied nostalgic sound. Not unlike the cacophony of valvetrain sounds produced by our favorite motorcycle engines. : )

Ever hear J. Hendrix raking the strings in his early days? Distortion?

whatever you call it. It sounded like I was listening to a distant fm station, with my head under water, but loud.

isn't distortion what happens when you have a 18watt amp cranked up so everybody is standing back 30 feet from the stage?

I think it's cool that Erik plays and has a good time. and they play well I think. just not my scene. I'm not your typical frequenter of such events either. so don't mind me : )

to really go on and ostracise myself... I think it would be really nice if motorcycles could be totally silent. sometimes when I come to a big downhill I turn it off and just coast. I suppose it's like soaring in a sailplane, different and in it's own way very refreshing.

I do that too sometimes in the mountains. And sometimes I'll let go of the bars and close my eyes for as long as I dare, or sometimes I'll turn off the bike on a pitch black night.

Wanna ride pillion with me?

I used to ride (pedal power) thousands of miles a year. used to ride late at night by the moonlight.

I was just cranking along hard and pedaled right into a tree that had fallen across the road one night.

hope you don't do that!

If I'd been within 200 miles, I would have gone...

Has there ever been any recordings of Erik and the Thunderbolts? I don't know if I'll ever get to see them play, but I'd love to hear some of it. I read somewhere they mainly play blues/rock, like old ZZTop etc. Is that right?
cheers,

Music? Buells? and a machine shop?

And I missed that for WHAT?

Oh yeah, to take a 1700 mile round trip to Alabama to pick up a really cheap XB9R : )

I REALLY wanted to go to that. But we needed to pick that bike up.

Blake, frankly I always thought "lace sensor" sounded a little on the edge.

Quiet motorcycles?...reminds me of the day I'd blasted though Flagstaff and went on reserve just as I turned off the super slab on to 89A.

I coasted through Slide Rock State Park . . . firing the Buell up and using precious fuel only on the long uphill grades.

I coasted into the city of Sedona bone dry. . .

One of the more memorable rides. Remind me to . . .
