crud run was great fun. what a great day. The cross wind on 94 was tiring but tolerable. It was 44 in milwaukke this morning, we had clouds come in off th elake and that keep the temps up.

One of buds bike broke in Madison, had to get ti towed so that was a bummer, add that to our late start and we got to ride around less than I woul dhave liked.

Met some of the Waterloo group. Lots of Buells and many cool bikes.

This is my first Crud Run, are there usually so many squids in Leland doing goofy stunts?

I'm kicking myself too for not going. Turned out to be a beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky and 71 degrees! Oh well, I rode over to Hudson this afternoon and got back in time to see the Twins lose. The really depressing thing is the Angels lost so if the Twins had won they would have had home field advantage against the Red Sox. Now they have to go to New York. Repeat of the situation last year.

Did Kerry and Bush go on the Slimey Crud Run?

OK, never mind!

Steve and Davegess,
Sorry we missed you guys.
We bugged out early, had to back in Appleton by dark, Kandie can't see very well after dark.
Plus had to load up the trailer for tomorrow.

Daves, hey, no problem... Just woulda been cool with a BUNCH of Buells rolling in at once. Next year, we'll all plan and communicate better.

But I still stick to my original story. It's all Gerry's fault : )

Sorry I missed seeing most of you at the Slimey Crud Run. I spent most of my time looking for shade as I was way too warm with my long john's and leather jeans. Shed all but the modesty layers at Starbuck's and still was burning up. LOL

Dyna, the winds were no where near as bad as what we experienced two years ago when you had your incident. Just average head and cross winds for the area but just enough to cause you to cinch your helmet to full choke.

Bomber made the day with his back road route from Leland back to Pine Bluff on the way home. Fantastic scenery, excellent twisties and sweepers and a few lengthy sections with fresh gravel to add the challenge of trail riding.

All in all a great day and am glad that I didn't let the early morning weather change my plans. Come to think of it, if I had done that throughout the years, I never would have made a Fall Slimey Crud Run.

glorious day -- too bad we all didn't get a chance to hook up, but it sounds like everyone had a great time (I know I did)!

thanks to Dave for Road captaining so well from PB to Leland -- no mean feat with all the contruction and riders or varying dispositions!

Brer Gess -- yeah, the stunter boyz discomvered the crud run a couple of years ago -- makes little nevermind, as the tire kickin is beyond compare (specially since the highland house shuttered), and the constabualry seems to turn a blind eye to the sillines -- let's keep our fingers crossed that no one gets bad hurt, as that will end our get out of jail free card --

got my obligatory "are you Peter Egan" run ins . . . one of these days, I'm just gonna say heck yeah, and see what happens

all you track day dudes and dudettes! ride safe and have fun!

A bit chilly in the morning, but what a great afternoon ride!

Great pix. Certainly a cool collection of bike. We did not ride as much as would have liked, seemed to be one thing after another slowing us down.

The stunt boy where histerical. How much money must they spend on tires? To top it off no one was doing anything a halfway competant racer couldn't do in their sleep on a bad day. Not that I could do, or want to do, any of that stuff but I don't think it takes a lot of talent or skill to burn donuts. Now if they had been spelling bike names with the burnouts like I have seen happen at Buell events that would have been something.

You right, the minute sombody impales themselves on the bridge or worse launches one of those burnouts into the crowd will be the end of the fun. Makes you almost want Joe Constable to come visit just to cool them down.

The editor of Sqiudboy Monthly (Super Streetbike) was in attendance up at Leland. I gave him s**t for encouraging that kind of behavior. I thought it was midly entertaining but that was certainly not the appropriate venue for their "show".

Thanks for posting the pics, Craig!

It was a COOL ride to Pine Bluff (rain gear over the leathers) but I think Dave's ride to the Crud Run a few years ago takes the cake, I was warm at home for that one!

The afternoon warmed up and the ride home was fantastic, thank to Craig's and Jon's great job as road captians! County road "C" out of Leland and Hwy 60 west ROCKS!!

We curtainly had a full day, from 8:30 am to a little after 7:00 pm and just a tick over 400 miles, round trip.

BTW, it got warmer the closer we got to Iowa on the way home and Dave the new guy is Brian Garza from Independence...

Squid -- good news, bro, thanks

yeah, the stunt boyz are kinda boring, to me, but I spose there's enough folks going oooo ahhhhhh to make them keep on . . . . I was kinda interested at the lack of interest shown by the crowd in the "tricks" . . . not surprised, but interested ;-} -- most of the reactions I saw ranged from "hoo hum" to a Bugs Bunny-like "what a maroon!"

if nothing else, the Crud Run proves that the cafe racer is alive and well in the middle west -- which is great news

Either we got there late or the stunt riders were fairly minimal at this Crud Run. I think the most obnoxious one was the Harley Bagger with the straight pipes doing a standing burnout for 100' or more. Looked like at any second he was going to lose it and wipe out a section of the crowd. All the others were pretty tame.
