Has anyone else seen the commercial for Volvo's new XC90? There's a bit about it's new roll over protection and the guy driving is trying to avoid hitting a motorcycle. Is it just me or is he trying to avoid a Buell? It looks like an X1 or S1...dang...I must watch too much T.V.

Yeah, that's an old one though. I think its an M2. I laugh every time I see it. Like people in Volvos would EVER swerve to miss a motorcycle. That would involve actually paying attention.

It has to do with the fact it makes the rider seem irresponsible.

I saw that commercial. Loved the fact that he was on a Buell, wasn't quite so fond of the fact that he seemed squidly... All in all, I think it was like someone on the MO thread said, it's a question of demographics. Obviously, anyone on 2 wheels isn't in the Volvo "target demo", so why not use one of them as the "irresponsible" one? Won't hurt their sales.

You sure? Looked like a Buell flyscreen to me. Either way, those guys on the MO thread were pretty pissed about it. Funny thing was I was more interested in what kind of bike it was than wether or not the rider was acting irresponsibly. The media has always shown motorcyclists as hooligans anyways so I didn't expect anything different.
