A few months ago I ruined the finish on a majority of the polished aluminum bits on my bike, using an improper cleaning solution. It's funny how peoples' sentiments towards my bike have changed so much with that. I used to get fairly frequent offers and inquiries about it...and now people are like, "what happened to that bike", to "looks like a POS", or "I've seen your bike, I wouldn't let you work on anything of mine", etc...and the only thing that's changed is the finish. I think it's fairly ignorant to base a vehicle's worth on appearance alone. I really don't care about ruining the polish on 'er...she's still the same bike to me. |

Yea...it's pretty lame! I used to get a lot more comments on my bike when it was clean. (after leaving the dealer) |

Ahh...shiny black. Put a coat of wax on it when I first put the new bodywork on and now all I need to do is wipe it off occasionally. ...incidentally, according to the trashmen today (sorry, 'sanitation engineers' ) my bike "must be faster than those god damned 'busas!" Got a good laugh out of that. So apparently just looking good means it's damned fast! (Message edited by darthane on September 15, 2004) |

Jeremy... What else did you do when you put on the straight pipe.. and how/what material did you use to make the pipe? Nick |
