Since I got rid of the Ranger I now will need to pick up a trailer big enough to haul 2 bikes. I figure a 5'x 8' should be plenty for the task.

I saw a pretty decent open trailer at Gander mountain..had the ramp, 14" tires I believe, nice thick wooden deck, etc & they want $749 for it.

Any good deals out there? May not end up buying 1 right now, can always beg/borrow/steal a trailer for the track day next month. But in the end I will still end up needing one.

Dyna,
Getting a trailer is like building a garage, figure out what you need for space and then get the next bigger size!
A guy here in Appleton has one with a fold down ramp back end, looked pretty nice and I think can be bought for 400.00
Let me know if you are interested and I'll try to find his number for you.

Have already ridden it over 6000 miles in 3 months, can you say the same about your bike???

I prefer to trailer to track days in case something were to happen.

BTW, lame trolling effort.

I think I'm gonna save and get one of these.

Interstate Cargo

That way I can haul cargo with it as well as the bike.

Look for an enclosed 6x12 at a minimum.

If you truly rode that much, thats fantastic. I dont recall anyone from this are packing on that many miles in such a short period. I usually average 15,000 or so per year. Course I havent done many long trips lately.

Dyna, check out Harbor Freight. Their 4x8 fold up can be had for around $200 but you have to bolt it together and add the wood decking. They also offer the bike rails for the trailer. Its the one I have that moved me to Detroit and back.

I thought that was Dale. He had the "Star Wars" looking XB12S. I remember him saying he had over 25K at the homecoming in June. Somewhere there's some pictures around here of his bike. I also saw his picture on that Deal's Gap site (Killboy.com).

Okay Dyna return the Equinox and go get an Element, that way you don't need to buy a trailer to haul your bikes around....

Greg

check out the back of Cycle and the like -- I got a 1800# capacity, 12 inch wheel, 4 by 8, three bike trailer "kit" for about 4 bills . . . add the cost of decking (plywood/diamond plate), and a long day to get it together, and your done!

btw, three bikes if two face front, one in the middle faces to the rear

went down and back to the Gap in June with no problems at all

lacking tripping over a screaming deal from someone who needs to get his trailer out of his dad's driverway or something, I think it's a great way to go . . .

little thing did great at speeds up to 90 plus with the M2 and a Blast on it

I seen this done before with the Element.Besides I've got two dogs and one of them counts as two dogs by himself. The interior is highly maintainable for dog hair.In about a few more weeks I'll be going to pick one up.I was thinking the same color as yours Rok.

Dyna I have diamond plate at my shop and equip to cut it etc., just pick up a flatbed with a good axle, and bring it down. I can even make the wheel chocks. You saw my trailer, I made all the racking in it.
