In case you can't read the fine print...
My Harley dropped a valve while I was in New Mexico last month (valve guide worked loose). It is under extended warranty till May 2005.

The bill for everything came to $931.04.

I paid the $50 deductible!

The boys at Rocky Mountain Harley also replaced my stator ('cause it smelled bad) and the transmission main shaft bearing (cause it was making noise). The extended warranty cost $799.

The bike is an 01 Sportster with 34,000 miles, and is now has the "New Bike Smell" back! ; )

nm

Picture of me in New Mexico less than 24 hours before the rear cylinder started smoking profusely. Notice I'm holding up twice the number of fingers I normally do while driving.

When my stator went out I had just passed the one year mark, same as you I had the extended. Can't remember right off how much it would have cost, but it was a damn sight more than the fifty bucks I had to pay. Sure feels good to get a bill and only have to pay a fraction of it, too bad more bills aren't like that...

The stator is $140 or so as I recall... installation would have been even more.

Running everyone out of the service bays and showroom when they opened the primary cover...
Priceless!

You forgot to factor in the back order time.; )
I think the guys at SMHD/Buell may have gotten tired of "is it ready yet? is it ready yet? is it ready yet? is it ready yet? is it ready yet? is it ready yet? is it ready yet? is it ready yet? is it ready yet? is it ready yet?
And just took one out of a new XB12.
No but really they knew how bad I wanted my bike back and did all they could to get me back in the road, including the XB12's stator, hats off to Pete and the guys at SMHD/Buell!
So I guess it was a couple of hours to take mine out, a couple of hours to take the one out of the 12 and a couple of hours to put the 12 stator in my bike, and a couple of hours to get the 12 back together. That's a lot of couple of hours.
The guys over there are top notch!
