Triumph finally decided to change to looks as well as the performance a bit on the speed triple. Stubby seat ala Buell, USD forks, radial brakes. Thoughts, opinions? |

Still don't like the front (goofy "bug lights" ). The seat looks VERY similar to the XB9/12S. And that's one FAT (not phat) can I like the rest of the bike. The new Daytona 650 and Sprint look cool with the triple underseat exhaust. I've always been a Triumph fan. The Daytona will be in my stable someday. |

Dennis, I think it has dual fat cans. Who knows might even contain a cat within them. I can see a nice slim version being offered by the aftermarket. Dana, compared to the old plank of a seat the bike had before, that one looks like a huge improvement. Lends itself more to the streetfighter image. |

Dat's nice! Why don't I see that bike on the Triumph web site? The Speed Tripple they show there looks like the old model. |

Make them can's black chrome or atleast black chrome shields around them.Get rid of the Peter built headlights and put some dual projector lights and a fly screen and it could look awesome. |

The dash absolutely ROCKS! The SSSwingarm is too cool looking. As for the rest, put an air-cooled twin in it and I might be interested. The radially mounted front brake calipers are pure poseur on a street bike. Looks cool though. Should Buell should upgrade to radial mount calipers for '06? We are to some extent all poseurs after all. |

Nice! Two points, 1) How's the dealer network? 2) Isn't that a blue sporttourer behind the black bike? Good job Triumph! Glad your back. |

Coolice...dealer network is getting bigger. Still a little too small if you're not around a major metro area. There's a great dealer in Janesville, WI (Team Triumph). As for the sport touring bike....the Sprint ST is their idea of the sport touring bike. For me, I found the Daytona to be a more comfortable ride. It also had a larger motor. But that was 3 years ago. Sounds like they updated the motor for '05. It's supposed to be upgraded to 1050cc (same as Triple & Daytona). On a side note, I wonder what the increased motor size will do to their insurance rates. They've bumped up over that mystical/magical 1000cc mark. |

Looks like a cross between my X1 and S1. Only my doesn't have to worry about getting roasted by my exhaust. Thanks Erik. SteveH |

Rek, because they shortened the seat up & made it better looking its a wannabe? Liquid cooled 3 cylinder Radial brakes Single sided swingarm Dual side mounted exhaust...definately dont look like underseat units. I say its a refreshing update to a bike that has been around for quite some time now relatively unchanged. You look at that bike as well as the Rocket 3 & you will see that Triumph follows nobody. BTW, that Rocket 3 sounds great in person. |

The cans look too bike from the side, but nice from behind. A passenger's tennie's are going to roast with the peg arrangement, though. Hate all the hoses on the engine. Love the dash. Take the Buell wannabe as a compliment. Good catch with the ST. I rode a triple after trashing my first S3T. Sounded like a 60's scooter and turned me off. It looks like they're a little more aggressive with this one though. Thanks for sharing the pics, R1. |

I think its pretty bad azz, I like it a lot. There is an Italian distributor that came up with a version of th Sprint RS that had a chopped seat back around 2000. If you're going to claim it is a Buell wannabe because of the chopped seat then Buells owe something to that Sprint RS.S. To me it looks like the German streetfighter trend that's been going on for years and years. |
