Well...I started tearing out my patio, spent way too much time at Home Depot, bought everything I need for a new bathroom in the basement sans construction materials, watched Trainspotting, finished cutting/sanding the molding for the den, hung some of my art from Japan up in there, and moved the water heater yesterday (and oh, is plumbing ever fun!).
...and the day is still young! |

I drove back from France. Two weeks sojurning in a beautiful country. Two days driving in a nice Saab. Thanks for air con!
Could have been worse. I could have had nightmares about sleeping with ugly chicks and riding jap bikes. Nice quote Firebolt  Hope you kept your head down over the weekend!

Okay, late to the thread so instead this is a "what I did" instead of a what am I going to do reply.
Spent three days building a fence. Digging, leveling, post holes, rooting out roots, digging out roots, chopping out roots, pulling out roots, more post holes, concrete, wood, screws, drills, hammers, circular saws, hand saws, and a pocket knife. Got the fence up on the back side of the property. Not overly long in length, but a great improvement over what used to be there since the old fence wood would disintegrate just from resting a coffee cup on it. Still not done, but done enough for now, just have to finish up with a little more concrete mixing and add a latch of some sort and a support wheel for the end of a 9'6" long swing-out gate. |

down to Springfield and back (See Tale pages for Grounders excellent piscs and commentary), stayed on old 66 all the way from S'filed to Joliet -- no traffic, all the LEO's patrolling the interstate, good fun! |

I went ridin' too. Put ~950 miles on my "new" 2000 S3. Nothing fell off, nothing broke, and no oil was consumed. Took off work Friday; rode 200+ miles of interstate to get to upper SC, then 95% twisties for the rest of the way there. Took highway 176 up through Tryon, SC and Saluda (nice curvey stretch), then up to Hendersonville, NC over to Bat Cave, NC and up highway 9 over the mountain to Black Mountain, NC (Former racer Jamie James has a restaurant there). Stayed at Montreat College 5 miles out of Black Mountain. Spent Friday afternoon, Saturday, and Sunday riding twisties. There are some cool roads in the area (highway 80, "Buck Creek Gap Road" west of Marion, NC is my favorite). I guess this is TedK's old stompin' ground. Beautiful part of the country- wish I lived there.
Rode ~270 miles back in the rain and bad traffic yesterday- that sucked. Finally got fed up with the interstate and took back roads for last ~40 miles home. Mostly straight but at least pleasant scenery and no traffic.

Took the wife & kids to Springfield to see the Short Track and the Mile. 1200 miles each way on the Interstates. Long boring drive; incredibly exciting racing. Life is good. |
