Was just wondering if anyone was going to be at Barber the weekend of Sept 11-12? I would like to see a Buell in action, apparently them being scarce at tracks here in Colorado, and Mike F said people here are always up for a trackday with slowpokes like me. All I really want to see is a Buell circulating at something other than pedestrian speed, and Mike F is scared. But he volunteered lots of you guys, so don't be shy, anyone want to spank my suzuki? I'll be at Barber on the 11th ( Sat ). |

Well, I'm sure that'll be balanced out by someone or another wishing me dead in short order. Know of anyone interested in heading out to Barber weekend after next, or do I have to wait until next spring/summer to come play with you guys so someone can show me what a Buell can really do? Mike F won't ever come out and play, something about neutered by the wife he said, can't cross county lines with one of those ankle bracelet things so the wife knows where he is at all times, and the track being so dangerous and all. |

Thats what I've been thinking ever since my buddy who I took to Laguna went and claimed this one is better than that one. I told the wife I HAD to go see for myself, him not being the honest type and all ( tee hee ). Anyway, I'm curious if any Buells will be there on general principles, since the last time I stopped in here I still haven't seen any Buells at the track. I know they are out there somewhere, I've heard stories here and there, but no personal sightings myself. (sigh). I haven't had the mighty zook back to the track since last fall when I got rammed by someone behind me who then decided it must have been my fault, him not seeing me and all. 10 months off never hurt anyone I figured, but when I got the new bike back out last week for a shakedown, turns out I've lost 10 seconds a lap in the near 10 months I've been street riding. As slow as the MRA Sportsman riders nowadays. Pathetic. So it would be a good time to come spank the suzuki while I am still getting up to speed...by next summer I have no intention of being as slow as I am now. |

I'm glad to see everyone is still functioning and not in a bad mood. Dave, tell me about Blackhawk farms...worth a drive out from Colorado sometime, or more "rinky dink local"? Blublak, you wouldn't happen to be there Oct 2-3 with NESBA would you? I tried to get in there first but it was sold out. And I generally avoid CLASS nowadays, nothing wrong with it, just once you get used to a more "liberal" environment, CLASS and the outside passing under all circumstances including when everyone and their mother starts running HUGE outside lines...precluding anyone from passing in a reasonable outside manner...and leaving ALL that real estate up the inside...well...you get the picture. |

Look who crawled back in here.:-) He was kind enough to invite me to Barber over at AMS as well. Troy thinks that the winter routine for every Buell owner is an engine rebuild. He refers to Firebolts as Fireduds and says they are overweight under powered and unreliable. Someone get out to Barber and lap this chump.:-)Hey Wes ever been to Barber? Troy has a Gixxer 750 now. Troy thinks I can leave my job and family at the drop of a hat to go to a race track 1200 miles away. I did make him an offer to ice race my YZ 250 but, he declined. I think Troy is allergic to metal studs. Mike |

Blackhawk farms...worth a drive out from Colorado sometime, or more "rinky dink local"? I enjoy it but I would have to say its more in line with the rinky dink deal. Now Road America or Barber is worth a trip though. Mike, truth is the Firebolts are underpowered compared to its competition. Doesnt mean they suck tho. |

I was at barber a few months back on my M2. I beat Blake by default since he only races OHR. |

R1DynaSquid, a trip to Road America has been something I've been wanting to do going on 3 years now. When chances come up, it always seems like I run off to Laguna or someplace else, like I'm running off to Barber now. Maybe I'm saving Road America for the depths of summer when I have no desire to suffer heatstroke in Georgia or Alabama...then Wisconsin has a nice, cooler, ring to it. There seem to be alot more Buellers hanging around here from the mid-west than other spots...at least it appears that way from the people I bump into around this board or over at AMS. What I figured I would do is keep an eye over here through next spring, see what type of places and track days you guys congregate at, and maybe pick one out next spring/summer. Its easier just heading to a Buell-pack trackday than trying to find someone to head off in the same direction I'm going on a given weekend. |

Dave & Griz were there with their Buells as were the Hoban brothers with the race bikes. But I dont recall seeing any other Buells there at all. Do you Dave? |

Yep, there was a S1(I can't remember his name but he knew me, he is from Sauk) and Millennium Mike with his race Buell. Hopefully we will have more at the Oct 4th track day. Dave |

Right now im planning on the track day for the 4th. Wont be 100% commited though for a couple weeks. My turn to bring the extra gas Most likely not doing the Crud run...but you never know. Weather may be fantastic that day. Definately not going if its crummy like 2 years ago. |

"Yep, there was a S1" Wasn't Jim by any chance was it? Good guy, good rider, lives in the Sauk area, known to frequent track days. |

Could've been, I only talked to him for a little bit after I went thru tech. I invited him to come over and pit with us but he was already set up and didn't want to move his stuff. I think I met him on one of the PDC rides a couple years ago. Was/is involved with the Sauk BRAG group. Dave |

Troy, nawww... Not gonna be there with NESBA.. although I'm thinking of joining up for a few of their days.. As for the no passing on the inside, yeah, I guess it could start to suck as you get better and really could pass just as easily on the inside as on the out.. I'll be there later in the month. But hell, the wife has never done it before and it's a good thing for her.. besides, I think it'll help me as well and after that.. well.. I'll have to see about taking the tight line a little bit tighter.. on another track.. with another group.. Maybe, we'll get a BadWeb day together sometime? Until then.. well.. if you're in the area, you could always stop in and say 'Hi'.. Later, |
