local dragstrip requires them for bikes, any recommended ones ? most close the circuit which means wiring to the negative side of the coil , sound okay on an S1 ? Got an itch to open her up, getting tired of the local PD following me home.

Contact Pingel (www.pingelonline.com), they sell them for either bar mount or dash mount. Super easy to hook up too.

Ken,there are two basic styles. One just grounds out the circuit--suitable for dirtbikes etc.The other interrupts the circuit ala the Pingel.Check around as the Pingel in pricey and youn can find less expensive that work just as well.See this thread at Landracing-

I've seen a guy running a local drag strip just drill/tap a hole in the kill switch on the "Run" side. Screw in an eyelet and attach a tether to that. In case you "leave" the bike, you will supposedly yank on the tether which will "pull" on the "Run" side of the kill switch and flip it to "Off" position.

Hope that makes sense.

Don't know if that will fly at your local strip though?

You can also tap into the kill switch and use two spade connectors in a loop. If you leave the bike, the loop will be tied to a lanyard and it will disconnect and kill the bike.

Total cost, less than 50 cents.

I've also seen people do this with an inline fuse connection. The fuse is the switch and when disconnected via the lanyard, it kills the bike.

Or you can spend a bunch of money...

The way my Pingel is wired is simple. It has 2 wires that I run in series with the main hot lead going to the key switch, when the pin is pulled it kills all power to the bike. Easy enough and when I park the bike, I usually pull the tether and it sort of acts as an anti-hot wire device if you're not too familiar with them..
