Dude, I hope Buell doesnt get too upset with some of the talking you were doing last night....maybe it was the couple of pitchers of Fosters you had... Really should learn to tone it down a bit in a public place like that. Thanks for the info tho

nope...first they are going to put a one-cylinder Revo in the Blast for testing purposes, and bring out the real Revo engined Buell a year later : )

code name will be Zeus (original Blast was Thor), and it will have 55 hp out of the box, get 55-65 mpg, and have a top speed of 125, but you will only be able to get it in Sunfire Yellow, and the footpegs will be $35 a piece...

I would rather use the "Theatre of the Mind" and fantasize about potential future bikes than cost someone their job.

Lots of dreams, but not many jobs available in Wisconsin!!! Heck, even the Hookers are giving it away around here just to stay in practice.

Translation: This subject should have been approached with a lot more concern for the welfare of the supposed employee. Especially since we know what has happened in the past with at least one other.

Protect your sources like a good journalist!

What are they going to do? Pull the credit card receipts from every Buell & H-D employee to see who was eating at Hooters on that particular night.

Give the dirt!!

Lake...What if that was a group of Buell employees. That could put a serious dent in the factories gene pool.

I say, keep posts like this as anonymous as possible to protect the sources. Don't reveal the who, where and when part of the story and it is just as good.

Not to mention, Dyna was talking about that very same subject at the track earlier that day. So what makes you think this is real or imaginary.

Either way, if it costs someone a job, it isn't worth it and announcing it like this shows an absence of forethought. Especially, if they have a family, a mortgage and the other responsibilities of being young.

How about if I start posting on some other sites that you consistently bet either for or against the Green Bay Packers based on insider info? Wouldn't that make your life a little difficult? I seem to remember you sweating your career when the Abby announced they were shutting down and you didn't exactly get employed in your home town. Although, I freely admit you are an exceptional individual and have a very promising career.

I'm with Dennis,

How could they possibly find out?

Pull Dyna into the factory for a walk through and point out the guy?!?!?!

I am sure they all know who Dyna is?

Didn't I notice his (Dyna) picture by the front entrance at the factory last year with the caption

"If you see this guy lock the door and RUN!!"

HD/Buell is *VERY* tight lipped usually. I've got a brother in charge of HD's Dyno/Experimental mechanics. I'm *SURE* he see's lotsa neat stuff, but can't, and wont(Trust me, I'VE TRIED!)tell me a friggin' thing!

But I can indead understand. He COULD lose his job over it.

Steve...Not "could", "WOULD."

I know and party with a lot of HD/BMC employees, retirees and vendors quite a few times a week year round and they made it quite clear that there is no shop talk.

The policy is real and is enforced religiously. It isn't too hard to understand and respect when you realize what they have to lose.

If it was a group of employees then one or more of them should have shut the drunken dude up.

Outrider, I completely understand & do respect my Brother's and HD's position on this. The day the Blast came out I was over at his house, and he showed me some literature on it. And asked about what other upcoming projects Buell had. That's when he told me about HD's policy. I haven't asked him a thing since.

It would be great to be a fly on the wall where my brother works. Being in the R&D dyno room for a day would be cool : )

Years ago, it wasn't quite a big deal. He's been there for about 30 years IIRC.

Steve...was just reinforcing your comment for the benefit of others.

Just imagine the financial devastation your brother and his family would incur if he got terminated for making a mistake like. There is nowhere he can go locally and make the wage and benefits he has accrued. Additionally, that pretty much holds true for even the least senior employee.

Now that you mentioned a little more about your brother, I wonder if I know him or at least have been at the same functions. Small world, eh?

Outrider, Yup, Small world! But I've got a story that even makes it look Smaller.

A Coworker of mine told me about 2 years ago, "Yeah, my brother got a job at Harley". I asked where at Harley. "Oh, he's an experimental mechanic". I laughed, and said, "You do know, my brother is his boss". He *REFUSED* to believe me, told me I was full of it. Later that day, he called his brother, and sheepishly came up, and said, "Ummm... You're right" : )

Outrider, yeah, you possibly know him. He's hard to miss, about 6' 280 LBS. And of course, the same last name as mine. : )

IIRC, he was in the same department as Erik Buell in the test labs at one time.

<shameless plug mode on>
His wife just opened a coffee shop in Waukesha, called the steaming cup. Off of Main St. Ever want a good cup of coffee, or some good food at a "biker friendly" joint, stop in there.
<shameless plug off> : )
