well it was h-d's quick fix to make its minimum number of street bikes so they took parts they had already and just threw them togeather

I believe those bikes were only street legal in Poland. I'm totally serious. The only country those bikes were certified for operation on public roads was Poland. I'm pretty sure none were actually exported there, though.

It's such a pity that the charging system can't (effectively) support the drain of the headlights, taillights and turnsignals of the street version. But then again, who would actually take a museum piece and drive it...

Wonder if I can get a pull off the street fairing so I can do a VR1000 buell? Anyone know of a stret vr1000 fairing for sale? Aftermarket?

Firebolt,
I've seen the Airtech stuff. It's great for racing, but the fairing has no provisions for a headlight. The Superbike kit IS designed for taillights and turnsignals, but no headlight or front turn signals. The holes in the front preclude the stock, round headlight.
Plus, for me, I have a Manta tank, so they're not sure the fairing would fit.
