I've been planning and working and saving for the trip to Newfoundland almost since last July. The extra jobs I took sucked up most of my free time so I have been doing searches on the board for Newfoundland to stay informed. No hits. Of course Newfie thought I had been reading the posts from all the people going on the trip to Newfounlamd but I had not.
Forked {sp?} again...

All my planning was based on leaving the beginning of August... Didn't anyone notice I have hardly posted since last August?

I did and wondered if you fell out of Buffalo or over the falls.

Spidey started that thread and did indeed spell it wrong.

I don't care so long as a few come over and ride around a bit.

Come on, leave by Wednesday and your here three days later, two if your a total insane nut like me last year on the way back.

e-mail me for directions

Look, you can still go, just contact Crusty and ask for his reservation numbers, since he can not go, you might as well take his reservation spots, not really a problem, your not that far(some of Us are coming from Chicago and Iowa) so set it up and go
Its all in the storm fronts, Hell if you want, i am arriving a little latter than the rest, but going straight to St John's, and them to labrador, join me, you more than welcome, all you need is a reservation for the crossing and a tent, clothes might help
Let me know if i can help, look at the route i have picked up and the time lines, like i said before, if you want to join us, make the reservation and come along

I already cancelled Terri's and my reservations for the ferry. But if the ferry is anything like others I've been on, they'll usually find room for a motorcycle. Just go; it will be an adventure. I just feel bad that I didn't get a T-shirt made for you. What size are you? I have one I could mail to you when you get back. It would never get to Newfoundland in time, now.

Less pissed off - more determined... AKA joke `em if they can't take a F**K!!!

Told two of the companies I was working for to not expect me in for "a couple of weeks" - the third and main source of income is a little more understanding and probably won't fire me. On my was out to get repair items for the left bag. The 20K mile service items that I was going to do at 30K miles (last week) will have to wait. New rear rubber in living room (appointment needed for mount and spin). What is the Kawasaki part # for front pads? Not a in-stock item at any of the local Harley dealers, but the Jap shops know that brakes wear out. SBC (green? red?) part # also. No time to replace bearing(s), hope belt doesn't break...
Planing to leave Wed. afternoon or Thurs. AM latest. Doing motel(s), high speed/high mileage body won't start if left outside overnite.

Grndskpr - (and anyone else) free bed & breakfast at my place - email or post here or on the "newfounlamd" thread.

Sure it is, just ask nicely like I did:

Oz: Please, Sir, may I have off until the 15th or 16th of August and some more gruel?
Boss: You HAVE to be kidding. peon...
Oz: No, I am actually starting to like the gruel after I pick the flies out.
Boss: NO WAY, and no more gruel, one bowl a day is enough.
Oz: Well, then, you can kiss my lily-white, ever widening, hairy you toad licking, brain-dead useless excuse of living proof the Indians f**ked the buffalo.
(See? pays to be nice... He's actually REALLY disgusting)
Boss: In that case - take all the time you want...
Oz: THANKS! I knew you won't let me down!

What? like combustion?

Alternatively, get on a plane like me & we'll sort the wheels out on site,

Miata handles better than Leadwing anyway

One last thing Grndspkr, I DON'T DO CAMPING, it's too intense. (the old gags are the best)

See y'all soon, I'm counting down in hours now!

Grndskpr what is your route from Union Pier, MI to London?

94 to 69, cross border, get inspected, 69(or what ever it is in Canada) to London, all highway, sorry, but were staying at the KOA in London, and since i have no response from OZ, thats were we will be on wedensday night, anyone is welcome to come, however you should know, since we will be on the road for almost 2 weeks, we are traveling near the speed limits(we are packed for 2 weeks)(also as another note we will be leaving camp from 7 am to 8am i hate riding in the dark you miss so much)enjoying the ride, smelling the roses as we go, and are in no hurry to get anywhere, our days are not really long, and i plan to decompress and relax from a very busy year, its time to enjoy.
Also after today at 2 pm, i am offline for at least a while or until i run into some form on ISP, but not really looking very hard

One last thing Grndspkr, I DON'T DO CAMPING, it's too intense. (the old gags are the best)

Us poor folks need to save cash where we can, plus i enjoy a fire at night, the people at campgrounds are usually very cool, and have never wanted for anything, its more interactive and i enjoy meeting people, hotels are small prison cells to sleep in and while they are needed from time to time, and enjoyed often, when on a motorcycle traveling through different lands meeting people can be of incredable benifit, especially to finding fishing spots, food spots, and in general things that are on the need to see list
tminus 7 1/2 hours

Grndskpr:
Sorry so late, checked MapQuest and saw again the "hook" one has to make to get from the 403/401 to T.O. in order to stop in Buffalo. (Its about 75 mi.) The stop-off would have added ~150 mi. to your Wed. But I was just offering an option to camping. Offer is still open, esp. if you get wet (likely).
I guess Bflo is too far east for the Canada route and too far west for the U.S.
Offer still open should anyone else need it.
Still dealing with logistics... all the things I had scheduled for next week.

No problem OZ, just kinda late in the game to change plans, i am sure you understand, however since we are taking the Canada route, i will offer for the last time, anybody is welcome to hook up with us, look for the black FXDX and the black Bandit, look for the fxdx to have a spare tire straped to the back and a RED water proof bag, the bandit will bet set up in all black saddle and top bags, we are traveling during the day, and i hope your wrong OZ really not interested in all day rains, but we are ready for it, we were hoping to be between storms, but it may not work out that way, such is life(KOA's have dryers)

No problem! I am leaning toward more or less that route - I'll print your itinerary & watch for said bikes.

Go here:

GREAT site for weather!

That's what I have been looking at. You can use the find a forecast box at the top to get (almost) anywhere, then just select the appropriate radar or forecast from the dropdown bar. I find the radar(s) most helpful and informative, though.

94 to the 69 to the Border to the Q402 to London. I might be able to find you guys somewhere on the 69 after Lansing. Not positive cause I am not sure roughly what time you will be in that area but I will give it a run and gun try : ) look for the black XB12SR with a tankbag.

All you need to cross the border is a Birth Certificate or Passport.

Thats what I used last summer.

Good Luck and safe riding,

I don't know if its any quicker but going through Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick is a good route too.
