Riding around earlier today & as I am coming around a corner I see some guy on a late 70's shovelhead HD smack a curb. He tumbles off & the bike crashes down on its right side. He is up right away so he appears ok. I am on the other side of the road & as I am turning around to help him pick the bike up he decides he can do it himself.

He grabs hold & yanks the bike up just as I am getting off mine. Well he pulled a little too hard & the bike goes crashing over onto its left side now. I couldnt help but shake my head & laugh. Helped him get it back up right, asked him if he was ok, etc. The bike appeared ok except it now had 4 broken turnsignals.

Had him sit on the curb while he called his buddy to come get the bike....ps it was his buddys bike.

Dip5hit had only been on a bike a couple times & his friend was letting him borrow it. Well I guess as he was riding his cell rang & yep he tried to answer it while riding...crash bang boom.

Gotta love Darwin.

Sounds like your buddy needs to get his @ss kicked.

Glad to hear you are ok though.

And I have heard of a few older R1's sustaining some frame damage during a good crash. For 04 Yamaha beefed them up big time.

Chat about what?
I know the risks involved in riding a bike, hell I have gone down 3 times over the last 24 years.

The best I can do is "hope" nothing serious happens. I sure as hell wont hope I total the bike or myself

Just an attitude check. That's all. Not questioning your skills one iota.

The reality of managing your risks is essential to survival and having a good time.

Just have been reading way too much death and destruction on the BWB the last year or so and it is depressing.

Never even took the bike out today. Took the grandson to the zoo again today. Yesterday we hit Racines & today decided on Milwaukee...wtf was going on there? Super busy with a lot of folks wearing orange wrist bands.

He had a ball, best part was taking him into the farm area & he was chasing the goats around & feeding them. Didnt even care when he got knocked down a couple times. They were eating out of his hand & he was laughing his head off cause the goats tongue tickled.

Tis the season for local corporations and organizations to have their day at the zoo. Don't know if they are interviewing or trying to return/exchange a few employees or family members, but I understand it is quite popular. LOL

Was there last year when HDI had their day at the zoo. Wouldn't know it from the parking lot as most came in cages (zoo joke). Still a fun day.
