So it's nice to see that Buell is taking their styling cues from the ATV industry now with the new Lightning CityX. Just in case you want to go bushwacking on your sportbike, right? Dig the clear bodywork though. Another nice update to the site too. What's everyone else think? |

I think it is taking its cues more from the Dualsport supermotard industry more then the ATV's but it is interesting that it comes with Pirelli Scorpion tires... |

Pro series springs now available and good looking frame pucks under accessories. Priced right too. |

So we got nothing this year... except my 2003 XB9S is still impossible to trade in, because I paid a grand over the new list price. I still haven't built any equity up, in a year and a half. Good think I like it well enough, it looks like we are stuck with each other for awhile. |

I have a feeling you'd want to hold out for the 06' models anyway. |

Only if it's a 400 lb T with hard bags, more leg room, 5 gallons of fuel and 100hp at the wheel, minimum. Maybe, NO? |

Our own RacerX(Wes) is in the racer profile section! Good for you Wes! I have frame pucks being ordered as we speak. Hell Jason, why not just hold out until the 2025 models? I hear they are going to be really different! Dave |

Or a 300 lb GS model with skidplates bottom and sides, dual purpose tires, huge headlights, luggage racks, 6 gallon fuel and the same 100hp at the wheel... |

Nice bikes and accessories. Is a good extension of the line. Can't wait to measure the new handlebars on the showroom floor. Just might get a set for my X1. In essence, not enough change to motivate me to trade in the X1, but hopefully I can use some of the new accessories on it. |

Awww...It isn't that bad. If it makes you feel any better, I think Buell did a better job on it's new 2005 line up than Harley did. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! |

I just put motocross bars on my 9! They've been watching us! Love the black wheels, been thinking about getting mine powdercoated like a couple of the guys here. I didn't really expect any major changes but there are some definite nice additions to the accessories. |

I do kind of like the XB9SX. The first thing that would have to go would be those handguards. Can't wait to see one in person. The see thru bodywork might look kind of cool. The iMac of motorcycles. |

Oh c'mon, the substance has been there. Like any other vehicle manufacturer they just freshened up the line and kicked off another model year. No manufacturer can custom build everybody's dream bike for under 11 grand.

Dave, I heard the 2025 models aren't goung to have wheels. Instead some kind of anti-gravitational device. |

EZ -- agreed -- I think folks get spoiled at the amount of new models coming out of the auto industry, or the rate at whcih the sportbike segment upgrades -- no way a manufacturer the size of Buell could do that (and I'm not sure they should if they could -- but that's a longer, offtopic topic, I guess) |

I looked at all the pics of the SX. If I trade can I leave the culinary picnic accessories at home now or not? |

hay guys, what did you expect? I think that the little change they did was good, a couple color changes on current bikes, a new version of the 9s, and their website is getting better and better. finnally streaming video. I too am waiting for the XB12RT, but hold your horses and stop dumping on the bikes. |

Chuck, just find it interesting that while everyone..well nearly everyone is clamoring for more power, higher rpm limits, etc etc. They get different bars, grips & see thru body parts. Definitely strikes me as going after the young squidly crowd. And brush guards on the handlebars & lights? The XB is not a dirt bike & certainly isnt going to threaten any BMW's in that arena. Bolt on bling bling is all it amounts to. Sad. |

Jason, the 2025s only problem will be when people mix the matter with the anti-matter. Capt. I think she's gonna blow!!!! Dave edited by daves on July 15, 2004 |

it's all my fault -- I asked Erik to milk the existing XB line as much as he could so he could design and build the perfect bomber-bike for me -- available july 2007 (tuition payments stop!) thanks for your understanding and support edited by bomber on July 15, 2004 |

Why should Buell come out with significant changes to a platform that is already cutting edge and unique? They are not in the repli-racer business. I think Buell has done a good job. They are maintaining their niche and adding to it, albeit slightly. |

'Definitely strikes me as going after the young squidly crowd.' that would be all repli-racer sportbikes, why would squidward want something that tops out at 130? he wouldn't. He wants to go 200mph+ in his shorts and flip flops, or at least be on a bike that could. I like that 9sx, kinda cool -minus the brush guards. no, nothing REVOLUTIONARY but still kinda neat. I just watched ALL of the videos on the site. I thought they were cool. Erik's enthusiasm when he talks about the bikes/parts is infectious. I like that. Most people are fine with the 92-103hp, if not put the $$ into the motor or shut the f*#k up and buy a 1000rr, busa, etc. It aint gonna happen from buell. Thats obviously not what they are about. Having said that, yes I would like more hp, but I'm going to have to get it myself. yes its alot of $$ but for me this is a hobby and I enjoy doing it. And no, not everyone can afford to do it I know. Again, not the bike for them, unless they like it the way the motor is. there will not be a 135+rwhp bike put out from the factory. understand that accept it its a Buell, get over it.. my name is Tim, and I like Buells.

I don't know what all the disappointment is all about. I have the bike I want so why would I be disappointed in what they came out with new or revamped. They things they selling for the bike is what I'm liking. And I like the price too. Thanks Buell! |

agreed that Erik is HDI's secret weapon for selling Buells . . . having heard him speak a number of times, his enthusiasm, expertise, and no bullshit approach never fail to make me smile . . . almost too bad he's likely just as, if not more, valuable as the chief tech officer, cuz having him more available would sell more bikes . . . . first time I heard Mr Bluestein (sp?) speak, I was greatly dismayed -- in a 45 minute dissertation, he said "product," "unit," and "deliverable" many many times -- he said "motorcycle" not once |

The suggested retail on the XB9SX is $8695. Now that's more reasonable. Wasn't the XB9S originally $9995? Plus, it's got the two year warranty. |
