Here in Davenport, there are not to many good twisties to ride. So I am looking for anyone who knows good places to ride, in the Iowa/Illinois area.

Have you been to Galena, IL? There are some awesome roads up there. Head from Elizabeth to Scales Mound and then take Stagecoach road from Scales Mound to Galena.

Jeff -- good tip on the Galena area . . . . . just cross the border into Wisconsin for more fun\

btw, anyplace there is a "Stage Coach Road," it's always good fun . . .there's another down by starved rock that is very entertaining

Chad, what you doing this weekend?

We can ride up to Sabula and run Hwy 52 and do some exploring. From to Sabula to Dubuque is a good ride, then through or around town and 52 is cool all the way to Luxemburg. From there I'm sure we can find some more good ones or jump into Wisconsin and run around Prairie du Chien.

Southwestern Wisconsin has the best twisties in the State and the best pavement. Go for it!

If you don't have a lot of time and want a destination also, run down to Kewanee to visit the H-D Dealer. The Reiman family is legendary in racing history, Hank for hillclimbing and Roger for his 3 daytona 200 wins. The dealer is a great guy, Dennis Packey. Take exit 27 off of I-74 and run 81 into town. There is a short loop of road back to the dealership from 81 called "Sale barn road" which is a hoot to ride at speed. Roger and hank used to "shake" out bikes on that 7 mile loop. Running down the river to muscatine can be fun depending on the time of day, Iowa side is heavily patrolled now so watch it.

Chad,
I was in Davenport a few summers ago for a co-op job at the Deere Davenport works, too bad you weren't posting then! The ride from Davenport to Dubuque along the river is pretty good, as is 52N from Dubuque most of the way to Minnesota. The roads around Galena are awesome as well, and please do check out Wisconsin as well. I might be out that way this summer after the cross country trip, I'll get a hold of you and show you the good roads.

southwestern and west-central WI has some of the greatest roads in the midwest. i grew up there, and have ridden many a place, but that area is beyond gorgeous, and the best roads within 500 miles for sure. they call it "Gods Country" for good reason.
