I know how some of you love my R1 topics...so here's another one: D

Actually this may help anyone who is thinking about getting new signals, lord knows the stockers are pretty damn ugly.

Stock

Not stock

makes a huge difference in the looks, plus they retain the running lights & are actually pretty bright unlike some of the really tiny micro light setups.

Still need to work on the rear ones, going to use 3 wire units & hook them up into the brake light circuit. 3 brake lights are better than 1.

i supposed you had nothing better to do today since it was raining, same here. got my oil changed just in time to get hit with a torrential downpour.

i dont suppose you used that yammi gift cert to buy those did you?

they look alright when they are lit, but they look kinda ugly when they are off. just my opinion, if you like them, great.

funny, i just spent the money for a new undertail so i could mount the stock turn signals back on. the previous owner had small, dim, red leds for turn signals that even my buddy couldn't see....and he knew where they were.

i'll take a big ugly signal someone will see over a pretty flushmount. good to know they are making them brighter now though.

Nah, bought those down in Chicago & the cycle center. Damn big place, tons of bikes. Sportbike rider heaven contained within 4 walls.

And yep, the weather sucks so i figured what the heck, lets get something done. I already changed the oil again on wednesday. Still need to get it changed on the Harley, maybe if the weather is crappy tomorrow.

Crap, thought i caught you with the gift cert thing.

they do look fairly bright. i ride with some guys that have flush mounts, and some of them are okay, but some of them are downright terrible. they do look better though, but if it was me, i would still use arm signals when in doubt.

hey, maybe now you will be able to hit 180

The only thing keeping me from hitting 180 is my sanity. To be perfectly honest its scary at those speeds & anyone who claims otherwise is a fool.

Dyna...Those signals look really good. Definitely wide enough apart to meet the legal restrictions. Wonder how they do on the other requirements?

Socoken...Don't encourage Dyna to set a WI Land Speed Record. Let him settle in and start adding Bling Bling to his bike. Once he does that, the investment will be great enough he will slow down automatically.

So when are you going to yank those goofy orange reflectors off?

Spike, my thoughts exactly. I bought my XB9R, rode it straight home and proceeded to remove all of the reflectors they look .

I havent decided if I am going to pull them off. Its a 20 second deal to yank them, but at night any cross traffic lights those reflectors up pretty good & I ride quite a bit at night.

Well can't argue with that. I very rarely ride at night so I don't worry about these things.

Better safe than cool and dead.

it's a shame that more bikes dopn't come with signals mounted in the mirrors, like many new cars . . . ..
