Quilt Drawing.... well this weekend proved to be quite interesting to say the least, not our typical SPLASH weekend. Ferris, you should have been there. Unfortunately not only did we not have the means to pull out the ticket of the lucky winner, but while riding I went down very hard in a turn and ended up getting an ambulance ride off the mountain. It was all my fault, rider error, I am so lucky. I came into a left turn carrying quite a bit of speed (read between the lines - going to fast), a squirrel came out to the center line, which was right in my line, I panicked not knowing how to handle it, adjusted my line but then the damn thing ran for the edge of the road and I watched it run into the ditch and followed it right in. Target fixation at it's finest. I road the ditch for quite some time, thinking "just let it go where it will, very little input to the handle bars be soft". The initial get off to the ditch unfortunately slammed my crotch right into the tank (big big owies). Well eventually the bike decided to return to the street and I thought, "cool I'm going to make it!", well not so cool, it pitched me from the bike and I turned in the air landing with my head in the ditch - helmet acted as a large trowing device to scoop as much dirt in as possible, hit my chin on the edge of the road, my legs and arms landed on the asphalt and then I slid behind my bike until I came to a stop halfway across the road. I crawled on my knees to the ditch and then once I saw there were no cars, got up and tried to go to my bike. Eric was there within a few minutes to help me out, so appreciated him. I have to say, I am so grateful for good friends and so grateful for good gear. The ER doctor was from Canada and also rides motorcycles, he said based on looking at my gear, I was so lucky to have it on, that my injuries could have been much worse - I have to agree. I didn't break any bones and came out of it with only three stitches under my chin and a few scrapes and bruises. I will be back on the horse as soon as it is fixed and all the soft tissue injuries are gone. : )

The quilt raffle will occur, so sorry for the delay.

To Chris and Loni Taylor, our hearts go out to you and your family in such a difficult time.

Hugs and Kisses

Quilt raffle ticket #246 wins! Cody mixed up all the ticket stubs last nite, closed his eyes and pulled #246. "Hey," he says, "that is just like Rossi's number only without the 2."
The winner is David Johnson of Moscow, Idaho, also known here as SPUDMAN.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this project. All 250 tickets sold.
GO CODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A sincere thank you to everyone who participated all in the name of Cody racing a national event. I wish I had a quilt to send to all of you, especially the people who wrote how much they love Buell's and would love to have a quilt like that. I will be sure to keep you all updated in the Tale Section with Cody and his racing results through out the rest of the season. Thank you again and a special thanks to the Sunset Thunder Club, Steve & Loni especially and to Blake for allowing the raffle to be hosted on his site.

Thanks Cody for pullin my number out of the helmet. Due to the change in jobs I couldn't make SPLASH this year, bummer. But I have this wonderful quilt as a reminder anyhow, most excellent. Hats off to the BadWeb community for coming together and supporting Cody's racing efforts, nice job all.

FMJ,

Thanks for the description of Buell ownership. But you forgot the fun part ride,wheelie,ride...fix,fix.

I plan on displaying the quilt at my new estate in Moscow, Idaho. Daily tours will be planned with overnight packages available for those interested. Anyone is welcome to come visit my quilt, just respect the velvet rope and of course no smoking in the viewing chamber. So if your traveling through Idaho or plan on making it an overnight adventure, be sure to ride by the spud estate to view the Buell quilt museum, you'll be glad you did.

We need to do a SPUD RIDE next year! I will try and do some planning with the BRAG Club next month. If I get there Spudman you'd be safe to hide the quilt it may come up missing. Tell Trixie hello!

Guided tours of the palouse, no problem! Just bring good tires and be ready for some sore shoulders from all the turns. The hot tub and pool table will be in place next month to sooth those pains. In fact I'm just waiting for you in the backyard.

Yea, a SPUDRUN do sound like fun!
