ough, ough, ough ...standin on my tiptoes and rollin around on my nutz has got the best of me...

Got an M2...put on M2L forks...dialed out the shock as far as it goes...let air out of the tires..and still not low nuff..

Short of spending another $277 for an M2L shock to complete the job or getting castrated ...anybody seen an adapter that attaches between the front eyelet of the shock and the front shock mount that extends the length of the shock about 1"?...

Seen one once but think it was just some hand made thing someone whipped up..

or somebody got a different solution?

Get the older slim tail section and seat. That will get you down plenty low enough.

Regards

Try American Sport Bike, one of this site's sponsors. I believe the lowering kit to be $359. ( I looked ) You are better off with the shock, I think. Keep an eye on E-Bay, or the parts for sale section here.

You might also try the M2L seat.

I forgot to add: I went so far as to peel back the cover on my seat and shave all but an 1/2 inch of foam outta where my but sits...

And yes I did buy an M2L seat...which really wasn't any better than my carved up M2 stock seat.

The M2 seat is so damned wide. It spreads your legs out so much that it also contributes to the problem.

I bought an SI seat and tailpiece that I'll have to modify the rear seat frame slightly in order for it to fit....a bit of work...but it's gotta help. Just trying to figure out where to relocate the ECM, Fuse block...and other electrical connections now hanging from the bikes stock frame.

Lotta work just to get to the balls of my feet instead of suspending myself on the ones between my legs.....then consider riding on 1/2" of foam..then it gets really exciting...My voice has been a few octives higher after every ride..haha..

One way or other that bikes coming down...It's one of the nastiest/funniest rides I've ever experienced..

Got a nice low riding Intruder 1400 that I hardly ride since the M2 came along. Such a different ride.

I'm from the Ole school of bikers and the M2 has quite the shock factor...most of the time I have a hard time keepin it off the rear wheel...

Grandkids think I'm nuts...well I don't know about that..but I sure might not have the 2 I already have for long if I don't get this bad boy closer to the ground..

Hi Benmarc,
Said already many times before: Work on both sides: There ARE riding boots with thick soles and higher heels, or something invisible, build within the boots. Don`t know which brand.
You can`t give up an M2 (Best bike, ever build) for the simple reason being short legged.
Hans

I cut a front shock bracket and rewelded the U shaped piece about a half inch back for my girlfriends S1. The bracket I used was a race bracket so I'm not sure of the composition of the factory bracket, grind some paint to see if it's weldable before you start. West Tek makes a lowering bracket from aluminum, www.west-tek-inc.com

Buell Lowering bracket for tube frame Buells. $175 for Bad Web members. Made of 6061 T6 aluminum with grade 8 bolts. Totally machined - no "hand made whipped up" This lowers the bike one inch as is or I can make longer arms to drop the bike more if needed.
