At 6'0, the Blast is just too small for me, beside the fact that I look like a circus bear on a bicycle. When I move up to a second bike, will the XB9S be similarly cramped? | ||

I'm 6' also. I have no problems at all. The only time I've felt cramped was after riding all day. | ||

i am 6' also and i ride a 2002 X-1, and i found the XB9s to be a cramped bike.. funny how the XB9R is a bit more comfy riding position... but the 9s wasn't too small just the handle bars are much closer than my X-1 I agree w/ glitch, long trips would be a bear. on the 9S | ||

Just don't look at storefront window reflections as you ride past -- if it feels good then ride it. | ||

I'm 6'2" and am very comfy on my Cyclone. I have had test rides on an XB9S and an XB9R, and both fit fine as well. The XB9S in particular was every bit as comfy as my M2, maybe even more so (1 up anyway). I could not imagine sitting on a blast, never tried it. I am too big for an SV650, I have ridden several of those as well. The tank flare makes my knees stick out. No problem on the XB's. | ||

Just go try an XB on for size. The good thing is Buell and Its dealers have a good demo program. If it fits, buy it. If it doesn't, go for a Tuber and enjoy! | ||

I am 6ft and about 235lbs and have no problems with the tuber. I rode an XB9R last summer while in Wisconsin and loved it. I regularly ride a blast and love it. If it feels good then go for it, if you think your too big for the bike then go get a Wing, no one is too big for those!!!!!! | ||

The XB's have a shorter wheelbase than the Blast. But I feel less cramped (and more comfortable) on my XB9S (7k miles so far) than I did on my Blast (10k miles) due to the relative positions of the handlebars and footpegs. Long rides are made easier with an improved seat and perhaps a little softer setting of the suspension. I remember with pain the Blast's unadjustable suspension and how unforgiving it was on long rides. | ||

I have a Blast (fiancee & sons bike) and a XB9S. I am a little under 5 foot 10 inches and about 185, and the Blast feels small when I ride it (and it IS NOT set up in a "low" version). The XB9R made me feel like a contortionist when I demo rode it. The XB9S worked out (bad knees) better than the 9r, I wanted the 9s anyway! When I took delivery the 9S at first felt tiny, and I think that was due to the short wheel base and me "feeling" like I was hovering over the front tire! I went from a BMW R1100RA as my primary ride to the 9S being the primary ride. On the BMW I feel like I am riding the machine. On the XB9S I feel like I am a part of the machine. After switching to the street fighter seat, the XB saddle feels better than the BMW saddle!!! Mikej hit it dead center when he posted... All Buells are tight - Formula racing style;o) - the Blast is fine for your size, you may want to go to superbike, or XBS bars for added comfort, and if your into putting on a lot of miles, you might want to change out your seat as well. Enjoy the ride, burn up a few sets of tires, get the peg and knee dragging, and then go for that XB of your choice! You've seen pics of me on my bike, since I'm that size range also - I can say that you'll have nothing but fun furthering your skills on this bike!  I fit my bike just fine! yes the XB is a very compact motorcycle. most of us can wrap ourselves around one. if your legs are real long, you may use the passenger pegs for highway comfort. |
