New place on the east side of Milwaukee is attempting to bring the crowd in..Lulu's is the name & its a pretty cool place...killer burgers & micro brews. Not a real big crowd but its just starting up. Bomber would have liked some of the cafe style bikes that showed up. Rode up with 3 buddies, 2 on Guzzis & one on an older BMW. Check this out, Schwinn with a weedwacker motor & a cable to drive it. They had the projection unit playing last weekends races | ||

Definitely seemed like a place Bill would enjoy. Wasnt a huge crowd, but it definitely was geting bigger right around the time I had to split. This was taken right afer we got there. | ||

Those bikes are great! Reminds me of my daydreams in highschool in the 70s. Did anyone notice the (lack of) rear brake on the silver CB400? In Columbus, Georgia I frequent the Cannon Brew Pub which sponsors a bike night every month. It's an OK deal, but almost all the bikes are Harleys; really boring. | ||

Dyna...Great pics! Have not heard of Lulu's before, where is it? Then again I probably would know if I did the TWT scene more often. The rain has really put a damper on my riding this year. Did you get to The Garage or at least pass by? How about the Fuel Cafe on Center Street? Let me know the next time you happen up this way! | ||

Dyna you got me think'n....Did you hear about that place on the West side of 94 and 20 called Spokes.Suppose to be a motorcycle themed Bar and Grill???I heard it was to open this month maybe it did I don't know.When it does I'll most likely be checking it out though. | ||

Its a Brand new building quite sizeable.I guess the owner has more then one and he's moved here from Sheboygan to what I understand and he's done well with them. | ||

Well at least they were a month or so ago. Makes sense that they would start another as they seem to have a magic formula. | ||

I haven't seen an RD400 in ages! I remember when I was a teenager that I wanted the RD400 Daytona Special. Quite frankly I don't even know how that started, but it was probably that sound of a two stroke screaming down the road! | ||

Nothing complex – the formula includes simple, ample sandwiches and salads, nothing forbiddingly priced and an interior with a sunny, unpretentious disposition. Lulu’s best sandwich kick-jabs you with flavor – grilled marinated flank steak, feta cheese, kalamata olive relish and tomatoes wrapped in a warm pita ($6). Our favorite salad is grilled citrus-rubbed chicken served on greens with jicama, cucumber, red onion and lemon vinaigrette ($6). Good food has a positive effect on the street, especially one like this, where KK and Howell split and Lincoln runs right through them. Dyna...Thanks Buddy...You da Man! I did a search for Lulu's for the entire metro area and came up empty handed on the AOL Milwaukee Entertainment thing. Looks to be in a nice neighborhood. Much better than the Walker's Point area where they are planning the HD Museum. With the exception of a few Biker Bar's and Jazz Joints, it is both Gangland and Queer City. Great place to have your bike stolen or vandalized according to many local HOG members. Can't wait to check out Lulu's. Thanks again for finding what I failed to. LOL | ||

Bomber...You would find it interesting. Fortunately, each has it's own street corner. LOL Steny's, the Biker Bar and Grill is a really fine experience. Bright, cheery, clean, pool tables and other games, just a fun place. Caroline's is one of the best Jazz Joint's in Milwaukee. Really small, cool, eclectic. Can't praise either of them enough. Tis the rest of the 'hood that is compromised but makes for some great photo ops. LOL Whoops, almost forgot. The best Mexican restaurants in town are down there too. All good places, just dark onstreet parking makes it a little questionable for your bike. Better to park at Steny's and walk over. Have to admit, Milwaukee sure is a fun place to party. Much better than other places I have lived. Had it been like this in the late 60's, I probably wouldn't have left. Then again, 30 years in California was an experience that can't be duplicated. Bill, Where is Caroline's? What type of music is there, or does it vary since jazz covers such a broad base of styles. Is there a cover charge? Primarily a music place, or a stage and coffee bar, or food and drink dinner place, or other generic descriptor? And do they allow discrete non-flash low light normal-film photography? Just curious. It is funky and you can wear anything and be comfortable. We also go to The Grove in Elm Grove and Centanni's which is across from the Milwaukee Ale House in the Third Ward. The Grove has the same groups as Caroline's and is less than three miles from my house. Is a little more sterile and gets crowded. No cover charge but a great lunch, dinner and appetizer menu. Centanni's is a fine Italian Martini Bar with unique jazz groups that will have you smiling. No cover, has appetizers but the drinks are both great and expensive. The Grove and Centanni's are a little dressier. Have worn jeans and a golf shirt and not had any problem, but dockers would have been a tad better. I have never seen biker attire at any of the three but then I don't go that often in riding season. Caroline's would be the only one that I think would not question it. However, the type you wear would be the most acceptable in comparison to the bad boy image most have. Not sure about the photo ops. I don't think any of the clubs or groups would have a problem, but I would ask first. Incidentally, all are extremely friendly places and that includes the employees, groups and clientele. Great food and entertainment at the MKE Ale House as well but then I think Dyna already said that. Looks like I will be spending a lot of time down in that neck of the woods this summer as Di is attending a school nearby though the end of September. Water Street, The Third Ward, Walkers Point, Brady Street and all the festivals are in for a real treat. Me!!! Now where did I put my "do not go to jail" card? Oh well, the MKE City Attorney is a good friend. To bad the DA isn't...Yet. LOL | ||
