Are you telling us that you actually 'ride' your Ducati?

Death to the gnats I say, a fast smashing with a Ducati death for them all!!

Thank you for reducing the bug population. ( it's a civic service thing, around here it reduces west nile virus, etc. )

anyone else seen the bug targets included in the latest BMW Mini ads? sounds like a worthy occupation to me, drilling long holes in the insect life . . . .

My local Abate chapter runs a Bug Splat Rally every year. Paste a bullseye on your bike and the one closest to the center wins the pot.

Kevyn, with this baby I certainly do ride it.

Quick Shifter

You're going to have to trust me on this one. Lift the gear shift around 8 9 or 10 grand without letting off the throttle and all one can hear is sweet orchestrated Termignoni's - (pronounce the vowel flat and say it fast) baabaaabaaa.

The Ducs are sexy but...you knew there was going to be a but...I think this bike is even sexier. Course I may be slightly biased

And Blakes right, whats with the cheezy carbon fiber heel guards? Couldnt you adapt some of the chromed Buell ones?

Same place the Model will be when she gets old and worn out! Heck, she might even beat the bike there as Asian women historically don't age well.

You are probably right and that is an unfair assessment. I got that information from first generation Vietnamese women that worked for me and they were referring to their parents, grand parents, etc. from coming from a much harsher environment.

Biased or not only a fool would consider an R1 sexier than a 916. Anyways, who said bikes are sexy? That 916 is a fcuking brute - and to ride. It's totally a racing bike in every aspect. It's not particularly comfortable but comforts the last thing you think of when you're giving it a work out. Nor does one think of sex whilst doing the biz on it.

Those cheesy cf heel guards Dyna refers to came with the Harris Works Performance rear-sets, as used by many a racer. Replace 'cheesy' with AUTHENTIC and you get to see the bigger picture. There is nothing on this 916 that is cheesy. What's been put on it is a careful choice of components to enhance the racing focus of the machine. That and the search for better handling and more performance than stock 916's. Even that Troy Corser sticker was given by the man himself.

It won't do much over 160 but it will be equally as fast as the latest R1 getting there, and if going fast is your bag I know which I'd rather be on.

Simply the Best

I've never told you but I always liked the first raw powered R1 and the restyled 2003 model. As Japanese bikes go one cannot fault them. That first R1 was ground breaking. Nearly a decade had passed since the Fireblade had done similar at its launch. I am sorry to say I think they spoiled the looks of the R1 with the current incarnation and yes I'm aware of what the road tests are saying about how brilliant the R1 has once again become. It'll always be soulless though.

Thanks all for the nice words about the Duc.

So how would you be feelin' if you'd been gifted with say a nice 999? Even a NOS 998? Or 996? Heaven forbid, your wife should bring home a tasty low mileage, immaculate 916 monoposto...

Have you ever had a lengthy riding session aboard a healthy running desmoquatro, desmosedici or testrastretta?

Ever wonder why a famous Ducatisti once stated:

"All other bikes just start, you bring a Ducati to life"

Squid.
I think Frankie Chilli would disagree with you.He seems to prefer his old hat 998 to this years 999. I havent ridden either so I will take his opinion over yours. The 916/998 are still the best looking/handling bikes on the market.

Yeah, if I bought a Ducati (and I nearly did when shopping but chose the 12R instead) it would be a 916. All the new ones are just as funky looking as the new bikes. Go figure. 916's rock. I'll have one at some point. Not that I look at it as a step up from a 12R though... No offense.
