Thang -- good job, bro . . . . . sheesh, from all the whining when folks missed out on the poster, you'd figure the bid's would be flying in!

15 from Thing . . . .do I hear twenty?

D, I'll not even try to capture the "Spirit of the Ferris . . . . " ;-}

Is shipping included? ?

Auction update? How about a new Ferris-only thread with the auction items listed so we can have an uncluttered view?

Ferris is out bouncing around somewhere working on a route for the first leg of RANE this summer... I'll update all of the auction info when I get a chance... I have to run to class right now.

Bomber, RT, Alex, Dave.....
Thank you boyz for stepping up and stepping in while FB has stepped out for a bit. Thinking he didn't ask me as he feared Thong parts would start showing up...(but it's for a good cause, sweetie...). The Monster Garage II has not been molested thanks to you all. : )
Alex, Josh - Ferris has the auction info in a Word file but me thinks I will not go there as I'd probably delete a command and end up formatting his hard drive.
Josh - we are covering the shipping costs.
Alex - It was one of those jobs that SOMEONE had to do. : ) If he shows up here tonight instead of calling me from Mexican Hat (I knooooow it's on the other side of Utah) I'll be disappointed.
Sorta.
Ever hear of the Mokee Dugway by any chance?

Thang -- since you've bid tennyfigh, what makes you think I can't read just fine, thanks ;-}

D -- never heard of Mokee Dugway, but wonder how my $1 bid last week for FB stands . . . . . . to my knowledge, no one outbid me (although it's nbot like we need another guy in the hosue that remembers the Johnson administration)

Bomber,
Try this: http://www.dramainnature.com/photograph_of_the_mokee_dugway_zoom.htm
...maybe just a search of the Web for the Mokee Dugway, Utah... it's hard not to come up with a great pic.
D (Sorry, FB still signed on to this 'puter).

COOOOOOLNESS!!!!
Just off the phone with Ferris. In one word he sums up Zion – “AWESOME!”
AND, secondly awesome is the brandy new (“still smells like fresh pain”) Zion Harley-Davidson/Buell dealership where he just met with the general manager who has not only helped in blocking out a few rooms in Zion – it turns out July 24 is a state holiday and EVERY place has been booked solid for some time – but the GM indicates a contribution to the American Cancer Society in some form of assisting with the riders’ visit to Zion is highly likely. GO FERRIS!!!!

VERY TOO AWESOME!!!!!!!
Ferris just met with the Las Vegas Harley-Davidson/Buell marketing/PR manager, Dawn. While Dawn cannot guarantee a contribution to the American Cancer Society/Ride Across America fund (we can appreciate the channels/process this must go through!) – a possible contribution is in the works through her efforts. Let’s hear it for Las Vegas Harley-Davidson/Buell!!!!!!!

It's my pleasure, Alex! It's a good cause you're raising money for, and I'm glad to help.

i b back.

true to form, my two-day Ride Across North America reconnaissance ride turned into four, but what a Grand Adventure.

as Denise paraphrased for me above, Zion National Park is incredible. Alex, when we get there you may not want to leave.

met with the GM of Zion H-D/Buell on the way thru, and with the Marketing Director of Las Vegas H-D/Buell on the way back. they are now both fully up-to-speed on RANE, and i should know in a couple of days whether they can "formally" support the ride, as my request goes thru their channels.

Death Valley was nothing less than unreal, from scenery to temperature to weather, and cruising the strip in Vegas is severe sensory overload.

lots of catching up to do, including getting caught up on the RANE auction and getting auction items shipped out, plus pix from the trip to post on FBDO, v.2.

thank you Denise for covering me while i was gone, and for your enthusiastic, passionate, unwavering support. thank you Zion and Las Vegas H-D/Buell for your generous hospitality and courtesy -- fingers crossed. and thank you to all here who have supported Alex as he prepares to undertake a journey of incredible scope, magnificent adventure, and boundless love.

i hope all of you can find it in your hearts to visit his Ride Across North America thread and give generously, not only in terms of a money, but also of words of support and encouragement to he and his friend Matt, and to everyone else whose lives have been touched in some way by the dark scourge of cancer.

Alex, i've now seen with my own eyes a small portion of the sojourn you're about to embark upon, and you have my utmost respect and admiration. we'll see you soon, my friend.

i'll start shipping out the items today. most of you have pinged with snail addresses and payment confirmation already - thank you. if you see your name on this list and you haven't contacted me with shipping info, please do so soon. as far as payment confirmation, i'm shipping the stuff out regardless, and counting on y'all to take care of biz on your end with Alex.

peeps, this has been fun! this whole auction deal grew much bigger legs than i ever thought it would, and i want to thank all of you for playing along, and special thanks to Dave Stueve and Bomber for ponying up some of your own stuff.

if i ran the numbers right, the generosity of the kind people of BADWEB has raised $920.00 via this auction to help support Alex, Matt, and the American Cancer Society - that, my Hooligan friends, is pretty damn cool.

i don't have the words to adequately express my thanks. BADWEB: you rock! : )

ride to lean,
