Thread title sez it all . . . .. my wife's got the wanderlust this year, and I'm thinkin I should support this (!) . . .. Where's the closest we could rent a couple of scoot near either of these beautiful destinations? Not too concerned about the make (don't seem to be any HD dealers near either park) as always, I appreciate the wisdom of the board! |

Per the H-D dealer locator it looks like the shop up near Bozeman in Belgrade may be your best bet. Cody is a nice place to visit, and there's a nice campground west of there at the west end of the lake before you get too far into Grizzly territory, and the Buffalo Bill Museum is supposed to be nice to visit from what I hear. West Yellowstone is basically a motel/hotel/food stop. Bozeman is a college and fly fishing town, and a potentially fun place to visit. The road along the Galatin river is a fun meander, but watch for radar guns. Hope this helps some. Have a nice trip. You could just drive there in two reasonable days and take your own bikes along. See the Chief Crazy Horse sculpture along the way. Even get to hop over the Bighorn mountains, which make for nice bike roads, but the drive on both sides is marginal.

Chicago => Cody WY = 1300 miles / 90mph = 14.44 hours. Leave at dawn, unload the bikes by sunset. (ps, I think you told me about the trailer but I forgot.) |

Bomber, flying into San Fran, grabbing a bike (or two) from Eaglerider, and riding to Yosemite might be a good way to go. (and do NOT miss Lake Tahoe while you're in the area.) btw: Dino, Denise and i will be very much bummed if you guys DO make it out here and don't hook up with us.
