I was never attracted to Ninjas. Would have probably gotten a CBR or an FZR, if they weren't so dern tall in the saddle. Ninjas are like the Trans Am of motorcycles - EVERYBODY'S got one.

So check this, the season is finally getting started, sans rain, and already, in a 10 mile radius of my hood not counting mine I've seen another blue 9R, a white 9R, a red 12R... I can't recall seeing three of the same of any other model bike. They're garnering a lot of respect on the street. Are we in danger of becomming the next Ninja?

Heh, yeah. We wish...

From now on, Buell jokes with begin with the infamous words of Jeff Foxworthy!

"You might be a redneck if..."

Yuma is where NOTHING is air cooled! The whole idea of being air cooled in Yuma is something like an oxymoron. I thought Phoenix was hot until I got to Yuma.

The idea that a Buell and a Trans-Am are somehow related isn't so far off. They've got a big V-8 and we have a big V-2. The sound is similar and four 1,200cc Buell's would be just under 300 cubic inches.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

We all want Buell to be successful, but we also want Buells to be unique. The difference is in who is behind the controls. Anyone can BUY a Buell (or Trans Am) but it takes someone special to RIDE it in the way it was intended. Let your path speak for you, not your brand.

I am reminded of the H-D throngs who drop serious coin on their baggers and ride only 30 miles a week between taverns & restaurants.

Hey Charlie, What's it like in Yuma? How much is a decent place with a garage to rent? There's a job I may be able to get there, but I've never been, so it's hard to judge if I'd like it or not.

OK, Yuma's small time, so there's no bright lights big city here. But, it's not far away if that's what you like (Phoenix, San Diego, both about 2 hours). I don't know what job you've got arranged but the economy here is always a little more depressed than other places, but the cost of living matches so it all comes out in the wash. It makes it so that if you land a great job, you can afford lots of toys! and a good house.

The recreation here is great. Boating, hunting, 4 wheeling, shooting sports, the dunes, it's all great. The weather is conducive to year round motorcycling so that's a plus.

Housing is affordable whether you're looking to buy or rent. A 4 bedroom can be had for as little as $80,000 and I'm not talking crack house either. It all depends on the area. You can get a real nice ranch house out in the county away from it all for about $120-150,000.

I grew up here and love it. I'm here due to my current station orders, but, I would live here again in an instant if I could get it past my wife... She's from SD.

Good luck in your decision. E-mail me if you want to check it out or have any questions...

There's an opening as an Air Force Military Training Leader. I dont know what tech school it's for, but basically, I'd be a babysitter. The usual tour is 3 years with one year available for extension.

There's no other job for me in the AF there so I'd be looking to rent. If I was closer to retirement, I could think about buying, but I have at least 12 years.

I'm going to talk it over with my wife, but we may end up liking it there. Here, we live in a tourist town, with a tourist economy. It's not big city life, but it's a different type of busy.

Thanks for the info.

I have to agree. I've been seeing lot's more Buell XBs around lately and only a few mounths ago there was 1 in my area. This last bike night they had 5 XBs there and 2 X1s. Wish I could afford one but I'm going to wait to get a better job.
