Hey all lets do a Team Elves on the Buell Formula Extreme effort. How do we generate massive fan support and media coverage of FX racing? |

If someone can fabricate a urethane V-twin you can wear on your head, I'm in. |

Go to the races, wear your Buell shirts, ride your Buell to the track, talk to other riders, invite others to go to the races with you, get your BRAG club to plan a ride to the races near you, do a drawing for free tickets, talk to your dealer about setting up a display at the track, volunteer to help with the booth. Just some ideas that popped out. Ride to the edge! Dave daves@h-dappleton.com |

Seriously.... what about a BadWeatherBikers Buell only contingency fund? Everybody pitch in $50 or so, and it gets paid out to any Buell winning... somewhere. Jose, you know a lot about the rules, any suggestions on criteria? |

Use the same type of scale for finishing in the top 15 that Buell/BRAG does for FUSA Thunderbike. That way Buelliedan, I, Slowby, and Englishman, will have a shot. |

"yep thats what I used to do and it works, we even had 20 hog members ride with us to VIR last year." Since Bear is not doing his job I guess I'll have to step in and do it. May be I could get mama Tilley to buy some tickets.

Reepicheep an official Contingency fund or an informal one with funds generated here? The tax implications might be a little complicated if we start getting formal. We could just collect some money, and hand it out to the riders as BADWEB checks at the track as "tire money" or something like that, based on point standings, local track qualifying times, etc.

We have an interesting dilema this year here in the DC area. Memorial Day/Rolling Thunder is next weekend, but FUSA is also having their national at Summit Point. Our dealer wants us to volunteer for their huge open House on Saturday and for the Rolling Thunder Ride on Sunday, but I want to go watch the races. Fortunately, the racing is Saturday to Monday, with the FUSA Nationals on Monday, so I should be able to do a bit of both. Then on Tuesday Linda and I head for East Troy..... |

The BRAG clubs are a way to do this. The latest BRAG newsletter is basically a full race edition with plenty of cool information about the racers in FUSA/AMA and Darren in the Canadian Series, and has all the schedules so everybody knows who will race where. National Brag will have tents set up at Road America and at Laguna Seca. It will be up to the local clubs to set up tents at their local tracks if they want to. I'm sure National Brag, if presented with a good proposal, will help to pay for tents, food, etc if the local BRAG members take care of the rest and go to the races. Last year, HD of Frederick set up a hospitality tent at Summit Point so the few Buell/Brag people that did show up got to eat some free food along with the racers and hang out, it was a great time. I say few because I emailed, printed and distributed flyers and tried to get people to show up in big numbers and they did not. Which brings me to this, and this is based solely on my experience and observations over the last five years, is that while Buell riders tend to be more interested in road racing than a typical HD rider, they are not nearly as interested as your typical import sport bike rider, whose street bikes look like the bikes that they go watch race.
