There are parts of this story missing because I am still pissed off and took courts advice on to be nice because it will happen faster. So It is still boiling in me and I want to strangle something or someone that works for a harley dealership.....
Dropped my xb9r off at the dealer yesterday morning for some new pads, new brake fluid (fronts only on both) and to check out the high beam housing that took a dump 2 months after I bought the bike but have only now had the time to have them check it out.I let them know that the bulbs are new and the old bulbs that I took out were fine, but I didn't know it, because they were out. I explain the flaking of the plate that the bulb clips on too etc.
The assitant service manager says now problem, it will be done by 6 pm. Long time for brakes but hey, maybe they have alot of bikes in. (and yes I did have an appointment for bright and early) So 5:45 pm roles around and I call them and I get a, " We are about to put it up on the rack now." When I ask if the high beam had been checked I got a "Were going to need to keep it untill tomorrow at noon." So I get there at 11:30. New pads are in and the invoice has an additional charge for a total of 24 dollars and change for replacing the high beam bulb.
The Asst service manager tells me that the bulb was blown, so they put in a new one, that they changed the pads, fluid and tet rode the bike to bed in the pads.
I ask to see the old bulb, a yellow piaa 55 watt. It takes a few minutes to find, and there it is. good as new.
So I tell the guy that I don't want to pay 25 bucks for another bulb that I don't want and I want the light housing fixed. I at this point look closer at the invoice and notice that there is no charge for brake fluid. I ask the tech who worked on my bike (he was having lunch in front of the building.) and He says no.
So I tell the service manager to change the fluid, replace my bulb, order a new plate for the light housing, and that I will go to the gym and to call me when its done. Mind you I am calm and nice still at this point. He says sure, it will be done in no time.
2 hours in the gym and a late hour long lunch with my brother later, its 3:00 and no phone call. So I have my bro drop me off at the dealer.
Assistant manager says all done your ready to go and I am happy. Hit the high beam and nothing, smack it a couple times and a white light comes on. WTF!!
Q1:Where is my piaa bulb?
Q2: Did you even change the fluid?
A1: back on the service desk.
A2: Uh no, didn't know you wanted it done.
Q3: SO how can it be all done and ready to go?
A3: no answer, just fumbling.
Service manager now comes out and wants to know whats going on. And for some reason I am still being nice. I have no idea why. I think I kept seeing courts posts in my sub concious.
So there is nothing that he can do for me now. Has to put parts on order, may take a week or two. blah blah blah.
But they are going to call me when the parts come in and he can't understand why my bike wasn't fixed???
I tell him that I won't pay the 25 bucks for the bulb and that is a 15 minute battle tha finally goes my way and when I get to the counter for the refund, the guy behind it says, well I don't have any cash. And I say sure you do, I paid the bill in full in cash ( right before I signed the invoice. Which I didn't sign). Never saw someone so upset about having to walk 8 feet to get money. Dick.
I swear I want to find out how I can charge them an hourly rate for wasting my time.
Anyways thanks for letting me post, you may have just saved a HD dealer employees life!!!

O'Connor

perhaps copying your post and putting it into the for the factory page might help add weight to the arguments of those who are trying to sway the mothership to seeing a little more clearly . .. .

No they had the headlight housing. I asked the parts dept before I dropped the bike off in service. Forgot to mention that to the manager. Too pissed I guess. And so yeah I can imagine that they were out of brake fluid. Too expensive to stock perishible items like that and lettuce.
