Who says he is racing? He & the other vehicles are on the outside of the track. Just because he has sliders on doesnt mean squat, I have seen plenty of posers riding with nice shiny pucks just to watch the real racers.

And like phill said, relax & chill everyone. Where was anything derogatory stated about this fella? Simple question like would carbon fiber fenders help his bike run faster & folks want to get defensive.

Besides look at this pic & tell me who looks leaner?

I always liked, "I may be fat, but your ugly, and I can diet..."

Maybe our comments make us the ugly ones???
Either way, I despise fat. Fat is a choice... Marine Mentality...

Let me go back to my original statement. "DAMN". The fact that he's a big boy, or for all we know a big girl doesn't bother me. I've got no problem with people that carry around extra weight. What surprises me is that the individual can actually ride the bike. The fact that they can is great, keep it up.

Here's a question, what's the spec's for that bike? Is that the 10? If it is, it weigh's about 375 or so, right? How much weight can they support? In the picture it looks as though the individual doesn't have their entire weight on the bike. Do you think their pushing the limit's or not?

Those are both 12's that weigh about 540 or so lbs. Hmmm which weighs more, bike or rider?

I would be willing to bet that they both several overtax the weight limits the bike was designed for.

Don't get upset about the way I feel. I'm not perfect... right? I'm just another smartass...

I'm not upset with anyone !!

I'm not saying I'm perfect either, I have sometimes made fun of people, had a guy friend that I used to call "fat boy", in a fun way ! He wasn't fat at all, just bigger than my ex, and it didn't bother him !!

I just feel sorry for the guy in the picture, it makes me sad, and I don't have the heart to make fun of him !!

CJ, I can understand how you feel. I learned a while back that there are some people you can feel sorry for and others you can forget about feeling anything for them. This guy, looks like he's having a good time to me. I wouldn't feel sorry for him, unless his bike broke down on him, then he wouldn't be having fun. I'd seriously like to think he wouldn't want anyone to feel sorry for him.

The "fat" people that I don't feel sorry for or those who use the excuse (or excuses), "I have a thyroid problem!", as they shove fistfuls of food and candy down their throat at the same time. (Just like my Ex)

worst part is, for all the fun poking, that big dude on the 12 would still beat a lot of buells in the 1/4. start with a high 9, add 100 to 150 lbs on the average rider, and hes still in the 11's or low 12's.

Except that being that fat is what causes the high blood pressure and the heart troubles and the diabetes and then the kidney disease, and then---- so yes it is his fault. There are really very few people that have glandular problems. No one forced him to eat that much,it takes a very concerted effort over a long length of time to get that big,so you are saying it's not his fault.Oh I forgot ,no one takes responsibility anymore--its society's fault.(can you tell this is a sore spot with me--go on way too many calls as a result of lack of responsiblity)

Just a guess, as I haven't been there in about 35 years, but that may be a line up waiting to make a lap of the Nurburgring. The plate on the car in the lower left corner looks to be German.

As for overloading the bike - most larger bikes have carrying capacities of at least 350 pounds. He may be pushing that but the bike should have the capacity. And I doubt if many of us approach the "average" rider weight that it seems most manufacturers build too, which seems to be around 150 pounds.

Gotta get back to riding my bicycle, maybe I could drop some of these extra 50 pounds I'm carrying around.

A bit of a shocker. That guy in Buggie's picture looks EXACTLY like a very old friend of mine who died a few years ago from complications from his weight and an auto accident. All his friends were on him about his weight but he didn't have enough will power to change his habits. When he died they had to ship him 100 miles away to cremate him as no crematorium here was big enough. They had to ship and cremate him in a crate that caskets come in as no casket was big enough. Great & funny guy who would give you the shirt off his back. The picture reminded me of all the nutty stuff we did even tho he didn't ride.
I bet those guys weigh more than you think.
There was another guy around here who was even bigger who did ride. I never saw him wear anything but giant bib overalls. I could never tell what he was riding because he covered too much of the bike. Looked small like a two or three-fifty.
From the back all you saw was him, a license plate and a LOT of blue smoke blowing out. That bike was hurting bad.
Yep, I need to shed a few too.

It takes work to stay in good shape. I consider myself in good shape, but I watch what I eat, and I exercise regularly.

To keep yourself out of really bad shape, (but not necessarily in "good" shape) doesn't take a lot of work. Try to limit your food/fat/caloric intake, and don't just sit around like a bump on a log.

To get yourself that far out of shape takes work, I think. You have to consciously eat a lot, and not do anything to burn any of it off.

And it's not healthy. It isn't terribly hard to eat healthy. I'm not the primary food shopper in my family, (I let the financial manager do that stuff) but from what I've seen, the junk food is more expensive than the good food. The ice cream and chips and soda and all that is more expensive than fruit and vegetables and things that are good for you. So it's not like a person could be so poor that they can't AFFORD healthy food. Unless I'm horribly wrong, and it actually is more expensive to buy frozen vegetables than it is to buy ice cream bars or frozen desserts or corn dogs or any of that other stuff that tastes oh-so-good but does so many bad things to your body...

I just hate to think that there are a lot of people out there who could be happier and healthier if they just snapped out of it. Stop smoking, stop drinking, stop eating so much, stop sitting around doing jack-you-know-what, and start living life.

My opinion, take it for what it's worth.

Now for the "lazy but concerned", there is the gastric bypass. I've watched a few people drop more than fifty percent of their body weight in a short time with that surgery. A fat friend of mine lost ME (200lbs) with out the surgery in about two years! He's down to a mere 270! Now I can't make fun of him any more. (He's quick enough to get me now.) So, I'm looking for a new enormous fella to hang around so I can feel better about myself . JK ! Thanks for waking up everyone.

Yes! carbon fiber would help. Less mass, better acceleration.
( It may be the only way to keep the tail section together under that load. )

Keeping in shape? Heck, I just had the BIG wake up call, congestive heart failure & MI. At 46!
( while working at a martial arts tourney no less! Rolling on floor clutching chest & laughing) I'm only 230 lbs. (down from 242 2 weeks ago )& feel happy @ about 200. Work & attitude just made it easier to eat junk food instead of fruits & Veggies. The slide from stud to thud can be slow & subtle.

I've looked at truly obese people for years, and told myself "I'll never look like that" & I still don't. ( got closer than I thought I'd let myself though ) I don't look like an olympic athlete either, and doubt I ever will.

Here's a clue that should slap you awake. When everyone you know just a shade fatter than you is having Diabetes issues? Clue!

I'm not going to lecture on fat or tell you not to laugh at huge people. Somewhere between rationality & cheese this dude found he had to buy the 4X leathers. He's riding, thats cool. ( I hope I don't have to do CPR on him, damn!)

fmj, I know it's his fault probably, and it is unhealthy to be that big, all I'm saying is it's unhealthy to do a lot of things many of us do, and no body gets all high and mighty about it !!

I'm sure you have seen many cases of fat related health calls, but probably just as many related to alcohol too !!

I smoke and drink, lots of people tan and it's proven to cause skin cancer, heck you can even get aids/diseases having sex if your not careful, even if you have a S/O but you cheat on them !!

No one's posting pics of folks doing that (isn't as fun when the unhealthy person is attractive) and getting on our soapbox about it !!

I'm not judging anyone for having comments and having a little fun, I've been guilty too, just saying the crap about doing it because it's unhealthy is just that, CRAP !!

We don't know him or care about him or his health, we're just having a good laugh, having fun at his expense and feeling good about ourselves because we aren't that bad !!

CJ : )
