The weather has bearly begun to feel like spring and I'm already thinking of my project for next winter. I love the looks of my S1W without the rear hugger. I hate the mess it makes under the tail section. So I've been looking for the tray that goes under the tail section. The problem is nobody seems to have them any longer. American Sport Bike has the X1 & M2 trays for only $309  . How hard would it be to make my own? I'm figuring I could make 2-3 fiberglass pieces for the price of buying one carbon fiber. The hardest part would be making a good mold. Any fellow do-it-yourselfers out there have any advise? Maybe I'll get working on this over the summer instead of waiting. | ||

mennis -- aluminum is also an option . . .think of what I did to the MaDeuece . . .. . . if tnothing else, it's a good short term solution eastwood has a DIY CF kit for about $100 . .. .try it out and let me know {grin} | ||

Dennis, I got this underseat tray for the S1 from DaveS imported the UK. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/20763.html?1049623637 If they are not made anymore I would consider pulling mine having a mold made with some differences, (no cut out for the UK lic plate, better mounting tabs) and produce a bakers doz for the hell of it. Sell em on ebay or here or something.  | ||

Donn....is that the same as the X1 tray? Any chance you can shoot me a picture of how that mounts? I'm thinking it needs to somehow mount to the frame rails under the tail section. Bomber...I thought about aluminum. I don't want to waste my pearl paint on a short term solution. | ||

I made a diamond plate undertail for my 99 X-1 soon after I got it. Don't plan on a passenger ! The tire rubs with the least extra weight. I can send a pic if you need it. Soundman... | ||

Dennis, nope not the same as the X1- tray. very diff body work and panels. This was made by Euro Components. I dont have a pic of just the tray mounted but look at the link I posted above and you will see the the mounting points with the tab on the bottom. It does a slip fit over the rear seat support bracket/housing for the tail lamp. I also drilled 2 small holes on the lower portion to attach to the rear body work. Dennis, Check out ebay. I bought an R1 euro tail piece and retro'd it to my tail piece. I paid 18.00 for it, it was cracked but I had to modify it anyway. It wasn't an easy job, but I don't think anyone else has tried it. If I get a chance, I'll post some pics. | ||

if you see the 2 hole in the aluminum tale back there ..? Craig Jones "did'" my bike in "våler-banen"2001  . so the bike have Craig's setup. so after Craig had his fun, i got it And all the god stuff was still on it  |
