I saw this contraption at the Leesburg Bikefest
(just N. of Orlando). For $30 you got 5 minutes of instruction from a wheelie "expert" and ~10 minutes of seat time. Note the cooling lines going to the external radiator.

Squid training wheels!

Somebody went to a lot of trouble coming up with that contraption. Looks like they'll probably make some money with it too. Think they could dyno your bike at the same time???

Beats jumping out of the bungie basket at the local fair for 50 bucks by far!

Yeah, just don't buy the bike when the guy sells it on!
Or just chuck it out of the Bungie basket first.

Why not just find a race track, empty road, parking lot, etc, etc, etc and do it!!!

I like it! I wonder if it's damped to prevent reaching vertical so quickly before looping an unsuspecting neophyte off the back (the old fashioned way )

It had a rope to prevent the bike going beyond 90 degrees and when customers rode it there were three employees nearby. One behind to shove forward if necessary and one one each side who would grab onto the alumunun handles and assist the bike rising up on the first couple of attempts. After that most riders got the hang of it pretty quickly. The only people I saw ride a decent distance (time) on one wheel were the employees.

i think what fly meant was besides the rope, cause if some squid hit it too hard, when the rope stopped the bike, the rider might continue flying off the bike, landing on his ass yards behind the bike. i think, and that is an interesting question, but i bet with three employees around, they just prevent that sort of thing from happening. i think the deal on that thing is the company that made it tries to sell them to people who will run them at events, setting up some sort of franchise. sure would be fun to have in the backyard though!

"c'mon over boys! lets drink some whiskey and do some wheelies!!"

wait, ive heard that before somewhere.....

Over here there's a wheelie school that has a kind of tilt sensor attached to the bike. I believe they use Bandit 1200's. If you get it up to high the motor cuts. It might bring you back down but at least you're not strapped to some fandangled contraption invented by a budding Jules Verne type

Two Wheel Tuesday did a segment on that training school. It teaches people how to get the bike up and get the feel of balancing it. It also teaches you how to bring the front down without blowing the fork seals or hammering the steering head bearings. The idea is to give someone the feel without the risk of injury or damage. Not a bad idea.
