Why do I have a feeling this is related to Bubba not posting since his rant a few days ago?

Well here ya go. I am actually still here at 9:30 am. But in about a half hour I am walking right the hell out of here. The tool box is in the truck, my desk is cleaned out and I am telling one of the parts guys how to take care of my peeps that are still waiting on special orders parts that will be coming in soon.
oh yeah and BTW I ain't clocked in....think these folks will notice. I doubt it I am just the buell guy.
This all started in January when the insurance rates for buells in NC went thru the roof. Kinda made it damn near impossible to sell Buells.
Then I started thinkin about life and all that crap and came to a decision that maybe I was going about this all wrong. See I left all my family and friends and loved ones behind because I wanted to be in the Buell business and I wanted to be here at Tilley's. I sold my business , went to school, moved to NC without a job and no future. But by god I was gonna work for don Tilley at some stage.
well I got lucky impressed don and he said to his son, if we got room hire him, we need a buell guy.
well long story short, I was so friggin absorb with work I ran my girl of 4 years off. But I moved Tilley's , in five months to #1 in the district, form number 60 to #14 in the soueast region, and from #300 in the counrty to #101. in five months. Then my yearly review came up in January, needless to say I thought this would be good. Well its damn near may and I haven't had this review yet.
Then some other crap has gone down (the janitor, who has been here almost a year who if a friend of the family makes more money than me, same with the receptionist, and the part time wash boy who is the r3eceptionist nephew)
so you can see I ain't holding back here...it is all truth. Good ol boy network is alive and well.
than yesterday during my lunch I was my Tiger, well when I am blow drying it off, the service manager says "hey get out of there I have a customers bike that needs washing, I say "alright give me sec"...20 seconds later he comes back , "i said get the hell out of there right now. well "alright good god, hell 10 more seconds"
well I roll it out and the dickhead yells, I don't ever wanna see that bike back here again"
I say "oh a precious 30 seconds has been lost"
so I am rolling my bike out into the parking lot and he comes up to me and says " I am only gonna say this once, when your back here you are my guest"...well than I say "fuck you, just this saturday I was putting a pipe on a buell and last week I did a quick tire change, and on the payroll it still says I am a tech" and "BTW lil man, I am on the payroll here...I am not a fucking guest"
well I woulda walked than but Bigdaddy was coming to buy his 16 year old boy a blast, so I stuck around. Which was good gave me time to calm down and make a rational decision. which I have done....FUCK YOU ...is my decision.
Now this has nothing to do with Don Tilley, he is a great guy and has done alot in this world and deserves every bit of respect he gets. But he no longer handles the day to day here much and I will leave it at that. I learned alot from hovering over his shoulder.
Anyway I am out of the buell business in a matter of a few minuets. I Talked to Bloomington hd/buell yesterday and It looks like I will be going back into the service department there. So I will still be in the buell business that way I guess.
I want to say to all those that trusted me with their business, Thank you more than I can ever say. words cannot express how I felt to be able to help fellow buellers out.
Thanks to ERIK BUELL for having the brain in your head that you have. Your creations have made my life fun. altho really difficult at Times.
DAVE STUEVE....you already know how I feel about you Brother.
Blake....for letting me ramble on and on...and me and kevin will have our website up and going within a week and we will become sponsors of the BADWEB...thanks again for your paitence. I hope to meet you in person one day.
To all those that I will see up in WI this june. we'll have a beer or 12 and laugh about this crap.
To those that I have offened....oh well atleast I wwas honest at all times come hell or high water!!!!

I'll still be posting and stuff but thank go as I am sure some are hoping, just nowhere near as much.

I'll be in the cornfields again before long.

this song express what I am feeling and have felt most of my life.

In the words of one of my favorite songs and favorite bands
RECKLESS KELLY

"desolation Angels"

I saw the same ol streets for far to long
I put the rubber on the road
and left it all behind
Now paved with memories
Those streets are long since gone
The rubber on the road and the blood inside

And I've been around this land of oppurtunity
The road is hard and it don't offer up immunity
I've road this country hard, from sea to shining sea
I've shared a dance with lady liberty

Broke down despite my prayers
Full tilt and half the way
The rubber on the road and the blood inside
But I ain't got far to go
I'll leave her where she lay
Keep the rubber on the road and the blood inside

Wealth of matter has never made much sense to me
It's bought a lot of souls and never has set one free
I've shed a couple tears but nvere did I grieve
I walked away and left the keys

And I'll ketch me the midnight ghost
we'll roll down that western coast
filds of green
valley's of wine
Saint Teresa don't you worry
we'll make it on time

Were there before we know
Just watch this grey ghost roll
Steel on the tracks and the hammer down
Things used to move so slow
these days it's roll man roll
Steel on the tracks and the hammer down

It's bound to take its toll
out runnin wild and livin free
I've done some growin up
but never lost the child in me
Tossing dice at things
that might not ever be
All just to see what I can see
and I'll ketch me the midnight ghost
we'll roll down that western coast
filds of green and Valleys of wine
Saint Teresa don't you worry
We'll make it on time

Well I know that it can't last
Someday this ride will stall
Rubber on the road and the blood inside
cause even mighty mountains
someday will crumble and fall
Keep the rubber on the road and the blood inside

Finding out the hard way don't leave school with much validity
living hand to mouth don't leave much room for nobility
we know the end is near, but not when it will be....
or is it close enough to see
.....We'll make it on time

sorry for the long post...but.....you know me when I get to thinkin

see ya'll on the road somewhere

Bubba,
Just try to speak with Don on your way out. Sometimes the owners are out of touch with what's going on right under their noses. I see that daily where I am now with some managers being totally clueless that there are any issues or problems with the work environment.
Always try to leave things better than when you found them. Works for camping in the woods, and often is a good way to deal with career stuff as well.
You did what you could, but time to move on. As has been said by others: "better days to be".

Bubba, you're a class act. I'm sorry that things didn't work out at Tilly's, hopefully they'll be a lot better at Bloomington. Having gone through something similar recently, I can understand how you feel. Keep us posted on what you're up to.
I especially want to thank you for the support you (and Greg) gave me when my Mother died. It really helped during a tough time.
Good Luck.

Well I am at home now, surprised the hell out of my dog, I think he is still freaked out.
Got reckless kelly on the stereo and and Guinness extra stout to the lips.
I wanted to also let those that have orders with me,if you need to call, call tilley's 704-872-3883
and ask for Justin in parts. I have him all squared away with your orders and you will be taken care of. I threaten him with a bubba lecture if he didn't

I will talk with Don tomorrow I couldn't find him after I talked to MRS. Tilley. I explained the incedent yesterday and the fact that with the insurance issue, I am kinda knock down with the buell sales and customer service. I didn't go into all the other crap. It just wouldn't have been worth it. Damn I am already calming down and going back to being the loveable Fat man that I am!

I also forgot to thank M.G. up at Buell. she went way beyond the call of duty over the last few months, what with listening to me go on and on about the insurance and a crap load of other stuff. We had some good laughs on the phone tho.
She is a great person and a value to those of us riding Buells. I ended up letting her down I think and for that I am sorry. If you read this I again say thanks to you for more than you know, and going past your job description for me.
your My DOM M.

You know ain't it funny how Buells make us so passionate that we sit here and talk to people we may never know, we have arguments, spout our opinions, have some laughs, give DYNA more shit than he deserves, don't get me wrong he deserves most of it just not all of it God love these bikes and how they make us feel when we ride them.

thanks for all the well wishes!

Bubba.. Man, you've been a Godsend to Buell. I'm so sorry to hear that your last recourse seems to have been to leave what (when we met) sounded like a pretty good deal. I know from experience as well that things aren't always as they seem. But once can only hope that some are.

I'll still be looking for you to show up for the Ridge (hope you'll be able to make it) and I know that your passion for Buell is still intact, just seems like you've run into too many assholes and not enough people with brains.

I hope you'll let us know how you land and how well you're doing at your new gig, after all, like a lot of folks here, you're family and one always worries about family.

Until I see or talk to ya again.. Hell, there's still some ridin' we'd promised each other we'd do together!

Later,

Well, Mayer HD is Buell friendly and in the northern AZ mountains. Some of the BEST Buell roads in the country right here... Maybe give them a call if the Bloomington thing falls through. It's beautiful here and a good 11 months of good riding weather and one of slightly chilly weather (or at least that's what they say... I spent 6 years in MN and 12 in AK so it's a bit too far south for me to get cold...). In any case, you have a few redneck friends down here if you need em.

Central Texas HD is looking for folks right now. Pretty good Buell country, more and more enthusiasm towards the brand and they are really hoping to improve things the way you did at Tilleys.

May want to give em a shout. GM's name is Rodney Barkalow (his son Rodney Scott Barkalow works there also, so make sure you dont get him). 512 973 8521 is their main number.

I think you'd love Austin

Brian, you gotta do what makes you happy. I've been in the pressure cooker before and it just burns you out. I did basically the same thing last fall with the job I was in, then just took a couple months to ride my motorcycle and clear my head. I don't need to tell you that everything will be rosy and you'll bounce back, you've already been there and done that a few times I'm sure. : )

Good luck with your next adventure and am looking forward to crossing paths with you in the future. Hope to see you this summer, even if I have to ride to upper Kentucky (I mean Indiana) to do it.

Looks like the Fat Man beat the Fat lady to the song.......

Bubba, grass is always greener somewhere else. I was a happy jovial soul when I relocated to LR. Went on my trip to L'ville and came home to a different tune. Management was slightly changed and working to a drummer I do not know. One boss has never done what we are doing and the other has no real idea how to do aircraft electrical installs. We electricians have a method to our madness. It looks like a mess for a couple weeks and then it, well it looks pretty and neat.

I liked the Bloomington shop when I visited it. Seems to be good peeps there. We need to meet somewhere in the middle now don't we.

Bloomington is only about 4 hrs or so away from me. Have only been there once tho, had to pick up the daughter of my buddy who got busted by the cops there. Would make a nice summer ride there.

And you know Brian that there is still an opening at Hals for a Buell salesmen, god knows they need one.

BTW afterw e talked last week I just had that feeling you were going to quit. Only being able to sell 1 bike in 4 months absolutely blows. Damn insurance company maggots....dont take that personally Newfie.

Lots of bad joo-joo vibes from Brian's location. North Carolina has went crazy on insurance for Buells -- I'm talking $600.00 for a liability policy on Blast. That couldn't have been helping Brian in his quest.

This breaks the camel's back for sure. First they let Gene Church go and now Bubba.

Brian, you'll be missed. On our 'private conversation,' please consider it buddy and let me know.

On a completely selfish note, I am glad Bubba is headed back to Indiana. I just had my 1K service done at Macon, GA HD, as I am down here for a 6 week military school. Bloomington will be my servicing dealer when I get back to Terre Haute. 50 miles from Bloomington! Not much better scenery than Brown County in the fall. The GM, Jim Markland, (I think is his name) is a super nice guy. My drummer was the first he had heard. Sold Bubba his first Buell. Brian, I guess you can blame Jim for all your problems. haha. Brian, will be great to meet you in person. If i can get the time off, maybe you'll have riding company to Milwuakee. Laters
