On my way to work today about 7:15 I passed a Bueller that had been pulled over on SR 434 in Winter Springs, Fl. He was wearing a Blue Buell/Vanson jacket and was riding a Blue tube frame Buell. Did the cop cut you some slack? I know Winter Springs cops can be hard assed.

Liz...95 in a 65, had a problem with a jackass doing 50 in a 65. When I went to pass they blocked me out. Once I had a chance to safely pass said jackass I kept it pinned a bit to put distance on. As I crested a rise an officer crested the rise on the other side. He nailed me with the instant on. Since it is criminal speeding, when I explained what was going on, he decided to just write me up and not arrest me. Have been told if I show for court they might drop it down to 80-85 in a 65 zone.

newfie it would be like getting nailed for 150kph in a 110kph zone. Anyways anything 15mph over the posted limit in zones of 55mph or higher is criminal speeding and the officer has the option to arrest, anything double the limit is mandatory arrest.

It's the same here in california, but I think if your cought doing 100 mph it's considered wreckless driving and the officer can arrest you on the spot.

Several states have the 100+=felony law on the books, California and Montana are two of them, Utah might have one as well.
