Ted; hang in there. Once the shoulder is functional, you'll have plenty of training/rehab to keep you busy, sore from the workout and from thinking too much ; )

I asked the same question before; anything we can send you to pass the time? Quitling/macrame journals, Better Housekeeping : D, Books, movies, music??

Let us know and we'll get some care packages together.

Ted,
Glad to hear of the improvement. Docs told me I might never have full flexion in my knee after my little "incident" back in September, but I can already go into a full "catcher's squat" with minimal pain. Hang in there bro, we're all pullin' for you.

I was thinking of you this weekend Ted.

You have a job to do... spend some time thinking about ways we help you. The only way you are going to be a burden to us is if you don't come up with some ways we can connect with you somehow.

Think of stuff that can help you right here and now, don't worry about implementation. And post often, even if it's just to say "I am having a really crappy day and am generally pissed off at the world".

Your attitude so far has been a real blessing to me. You are not going to bother anybody here by being honest. Be just as honest in the times where you are struggling as you have been in the times when you are overcoming. It makes your ongoing victory just that much sweeter...

You have something there that can easily play MP3's on a CDRom?

Been having a bit of a rough time this weekend. I was stuck in bed, really depressing. I'm up now but stuck in my room because of my bacteria. Henrik, I need your address. I could use some small care care packages, yes. I don't have DVD, but they'll bring me a vcr on occasion. Just read a book John let me borrow, thanks. You're all a blessing. Not a great time to visit, don't want ya'll to catch this bacteria. Hope to get back to therapy. Looking into school, maybe mechanical engineering. ANyone want to buy a 2000' Dodge Dakota 4x4, 5 spd, club cab, NO a/c? I need an automatic to convert to hand controls. Thanks all.

How about some video games? I think we can get a small fund together for an X-Box or PS2. I'll pitch in some $ and a few X-Box games.

You can get an X-box kit with DVD play-back option. Works well. About $150 for the X-Box and $30 for the DVD playback kit.

Ted, shot you a mail.

Most DVD players will play back mp3's as well... so that would be good. Will the hospital facility cops let you hook an XBox to your TV?

Ted, How about a Netflix subscription? $20 for all the dvds you can watch, postage paid returns, online ordering and no late fees. I'm sure the Badwebbers could pony up the dough for a year of great movie watching. What else could you use?

Hang in there Ted. Try to focus your frustration and anger energy on rehab and healing.

How you doing today Ted? We are thinking of you.

You been thinking about things we can do to support you? The DVD thing is cool, but is a traditional male "throw electronics at serious problems" solution. Not to say it won't work, just wanting to make sure we are thinking big enough ; )

Anyway, you've been quiet the last few days.

How do you get your internet access? Do you have a machine there, or do you have to go use a community system? Do they have broadband in the room, either wired or wireless, or do you have to do the dial up thing?

Bill

I've been having problems w/laptop that they supplied me with. I'd love some video games and videos. Don't know if I can hook up to this little TV, but I'll try. I have been moved to room 218, subject to another move once they clear me from the bacteria I had. It is a hard road, but I am hear. Just Hitting me how bad off I got in accident, loooooooong recovery. Shoulder is better, will take weeks till I can put my full weight on it and 1 year to heal completly. It will however never be the same. Back is still hurting, but they're working me hard. Thanks all!

Anyhow, my last day of work up here in the northwoods is Friday and then I am moving to Madison.... BUT I do have a frequent flyer ticket I can take anytime in the continental US... I am sure Bubba would love to visit with me again...

He is such a bald-fat tub of LOVE !!! Isn't he great??? Let me know if you want my cell phone number.... e-mail me at watermanitou@netscape.net.

Talk to you soon I hope. Hang in there !

Ted... we would all enjoy getting a note from you, but know your positive attitude and participation here is more thanks then we could ever ask for.

You have no idea how encouraging you are to me, and no doubt others. I don't understand it, and won't even try to explain it, but I have been repeated blessed in profound ways by the way you are handling this.

And no, I have not been drinking. If I had I would be getting REALLLY sappy

Even though this tragedy took place there is a great satisfaction when I am able to do such simple things as roll over or sit up. It's as though I am a child again and re-learning after having my old ways stripped away.

Ted ( and badwebbers in general)
A check for $109.19 is on the way from the sale of American Sport Bike T-shirts and Hats for the month before April 15th. Not a huge sum, but every little bit helps, I'm sure.

Got your card, too. Your upbeat attitude is an inspiration to us all.

Hang in there, Ted. One of these in your future until you can walk again?
