As FMJ pointed out, I have seen the big guns putting down 500+ rwhp. Hell there are quite a few normally aspirated HD's that are cranking out 180-220 rwhp. That would make one hell of a fun Roadking: D

Who the hell would want to sit on that thing.

You are talking a greater power to weight ration than a F1 car - only on 2 wheels...

I've ridden a couple 150 HP bikes before and it is scary when you get to the upper end of the powerband - very "un useable"...

I remember the owner of this bike telling me that he was going down the highway at 140+ and the front end came right up whe he cranked it wide open.Havent been there, and havent done that, and really dont want to.

I'd want to ride it never mind sit on it!

To steal a quote from this weeks MCN from a Busa owner.....

"It's the kind of bike you take out for a ride and find yourself in another country"

Where, at the drag strip running top fuel?

A sporting motorcycle with over 250 rwhp probably needs to have an extended swingarm. Would be interesting to see what it would do at Bonneville, maybe 270 mph?

No drag strip Blake. One fellow is a fireman in chicago that regulary wins dyno shootputs with his street driven dailey dyna & he is in the 170-180 range.

You need to step away from the keyboard & badweb & get out & see what people are doing with their bikes. Its incredible

Dyna, you are refering to John Kownaki(sp), That isn't the HP that he makes. In his ad he states 164. He may have made that once. I know John very well and his bike runs extremely well but not in that range.

But Blake, if you check out the dyno chart of Wes' bike, you will see 182 or so. That is a normally aspirated streetable bike(stock FXR frames and all). I didn't say it was a tourer at all. But like you, I haven't seen a lot of them.

Dyna,
You are not a liar, but you like to exaggerate. What Pammy said. I would say that there are a "few."

Pammy,
I SAW it. Scared me. Good grief, I know what happens when I exit a turn in 2nd gear and whack the throttle open on my little Cyclone. With a motor in my Cyclone putting out power like Wes' or yours there'd absolutely be no more whacking, and I'm sot sure I could handle that. Is there a twelve step program for that?

FMJ,
How on earth would you fit a 5" stroker into a Buell frame? Custom motor mounts at a minimum. Man, I cannot imagine the torque from such an engine. Wheelies at 1500 rpm. LOL.

Blake,

i know weve all tried to quit "whacking" at one point or another during our lives, but you just get to the point where you realize, life is short, and i like to "whack," so im gonna keep on "whacking." of course, as soon as you have a girl with you, its tougher to whack, but you can still surprise her once in a while by "whacking" when shes not expecting it.

To whack, or not to whack? What a stupid question!

Limitation(s) on a 5" stroker would be frame fitment and lack of life. Advantage would be a hell of a lotta torque.
Good luck on that one. Personally I wouldn't do it.

The longest stroke that I know of fitting in a Buell frame is 4-5/16", S&S's 89 inch kit with a 7.113" rod. It is very tight and required special engine mounts. I don't think you would fit a longer stroke or rod in a Buell frame without fairly significant frame mods.

That doesn't mean someone shouldn't try though!

Pammy, that 164 in the ad is with his old motor. He has a new combo right now that supposedly is in the 180's now.

And looking over the results of last years hp shootout there are a number of HD's putting down some very very impressive numbers. Hell didnt your Buell do something like 125 or so?

I haven't seen anything from John with those numbers, but it's possible, so I won't argue the point.(don't be shocked)

Last year, I don't remember. I would have to look it up. It was something like that though...
This year I ran in fifth gear and ran out of fuel and put out around 129 or so. I didn't bother to run again because there wasn't anything close. This year at the shootout would have been the most impressive I have seen. James Simonelli put out about 159HP on his 140" street bike. Wes put out 160HP on his 124" street bike. There was a husband/wife team who put out some impressive #'s on a couple of turbo charged bikes and of course there were a couple of 500+ Hayabusas.

4th gear should have put me in the mid/high 130's.

Keep in mind that a Superflow dyno and a Dyno Jet dyno read differently.(probably around 12, 13%)

Pammy, it's so bloody good to see you posting here so often recently. I'm sure I'm not the only one that's missed you.

Back on topic. I've just added 2 inches to my S1W's stroke. I replaced the broken rod LOL

Jeff, thanks for the info a few weeks ago. Your part numbers and info came good.

Thanks Sean. I missed it as well.I have a couple of minutes here and there nowadays. I have been and am so busy it's hard to keep up. I still just skim over the topics and read a little. I do enjoy this forum, even when we are being bad...

Dyna, John doesn't even have his new motor together yet. I think you may have heard his projection for what it may put out. That part, I couldn't say. I was curious, so I checked.
I certainly don't doubt John's abilities though.

At the Arizona Bike Week shoot out John and Barbra Cabral showed up and took 1, 2 and 3rd place Unlimited Domestric with their turbo bikes. 223.7hp for 1st (Dyna), 175.3hp (ultra classic fuel injected) and 124.8hp (softail) third place. These are the same people that took first place in Dayton this year. The Bagger only had 50 miles on the engine so they were taking easy John is looking to get around 240 out of it.

That's the Turbo bike to which I was referring in my earlier post. I believe they also took 1st and 2nd place in the Turbo class in Daytona.
