Just wondered if anyone else is bothered by the mid week scheduling of this years adventures? I know my schedule is best served by Fri-Sat-Sun or Sat-Sun-Mon get-togethers. Anyone else fall into this category? Maybe this is the reasoning for the dismal No whinin' registration numbers?

Depending on the results here, I figured we could let Bragg know how we feel. I mean how do they know if we don't tell them...

I agree Charlieboy,
It does seem a bit odd that they would schedule them during the week, instead of during a weekend. It seems more folks would be able to attend if they were on a weekend, eh?

Me to...Also the Colorado adventure is the same time as Bonneyville this year. This does not appear to have been thought out.

I think the mid week thing is strickly based on riding time. What I mean is that there is less traffic than on the weekends.
I know that is it atleast for the runnin the ridge get together. Because tourist traffic in the mountains can be heavy on the weekends

The BRAG "No Wine'n" tour is right after the races at Infineon. The races are on the weekend, the ride is Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Good points Brian and Joel, I figured it might be a safety factor due to traffic and I did not know about the scheduling with the races for the No Wine'n tour. Just trying to get the gouge...

The dealer in Durango Co. has droped the Buell line. The Colorado Adventure has been canceled. A front range dealer was trying to make it happen. But was told there was not enough time for planning. Supposedly will happen in 2005.

???
that's a REAL bummer!!!
Colorado is such a Buelltiful place to ride too!
That sucks that the front range dealer couldn't get it to happen. Was that corporate HD shutting the door on him, I wonder?

From what I understand the front range dealer wanted to move the whole thing to the front range. Run it out of their dealership and a hotel near them. Not in the Durango as originaly planned. I don't think this is what most people plan on when they want to ride in the Colorado Rockies. (They were planning rides up into the mountians and back to Denver.)
I was told that BRAG wanted to wait until 2005 and than maybe have it before or after Cycle Fest. Which is held at Copper Mountain Ski Resort in August. www.cyclefestco.com Last year was the first year and four local Buell dealers each brought a demo bike. This year Buell is bringing a regular demo truck. Everyone was caught off guard last year as they only had 700 preregistrations and 15,000 showed up each day.
If it happens we may get a BRAG ADVENTURE with demo rides included.

If you can't sell Buells in Durango CO you must really be an idiot. The roads out there rock!

Dave, the roads around New England rock; and we used to have the #1 and #4 largest volume Buell dealers here. Now, the former #1 dealership is owned by(and run like) a big car dealership(they were asking $3,000.00 over MSRP for a 883R Sportster). The former #4 had a management change; fired all the salesmen and most of the parts people and hasn't sold ONE XB12 (as of Christmas).
There are a LOT of idiots out there who just want to make a quick buck on the H-D mystique and have no enthusiasm at all for what they sell.

It's a shame isn't it?
The last thing anyone, (HD, are you listening?)should want, is to turn a motorcycle dealership into a car dealership atmosphere.
That just makes no sense whatsoever to me.
Bike shops should be run by motorcycle people, period! Doesn't matter what brand.
I think that as "the worm turns" a lot of these "Johnny come lately" owners will be bailing out and going back to their car dealerships. They don't understand the business, the customers or motorcycles anyway. They are just in it for the $$$$.
Maybe if they didn't require that you are already a millionaire to get a HD/Buell dealership they would get some better owners.
I would love to have a dealership but that will never happen under current policy. Hell if I was already a millionaire why would I want a dealership anyway? I'd just spend my time riding.

Ride to the edge!
Dave

Manchester is where Scooter from ATC works. Nice place but holy shit are the prices ever wacked on the bikes. Sportys going for over $12K. V-Rods priced at $20K, etc.

"Car dealership atmosphere." Oh boy that's a mouthful! We've got a Johnny Come Lately near us too and it's a joke. The owner has like 15 or 20 car lots and he initially brought in his Kia salesman to move product. Unbelieveable is all I can say. Thank of the very worst Randy The Ripoff Used Car Salesman meeting you at the HD Botique door and calling you "bro." Further discussion identifies that no one on the entire floor knows anything about HD, Buell, motorcycles, but boy they can finance and sale some t's. Just remembering the grand opening gives me belly laughs.
