Hey Yall,

I am leaving Mole Lake... but I don't know where I am going yet... maybe to crazyville... aha.

Suppose I will just ride the Buell until the repo-man catches up to me...

One week to go after today.
I think I have a place to live now so I don't have to sleep in the back of my Expedition.
Anyone else making it up to see me on the 15th of May?

Ride to the edge!

Don't think I'd "fit in" there if you know what I mean.

I'm going up next Thursday to put a deposit on an apartment. Damn things are expensive! But I gotta have a place to live until we fully relocate and buy a house.
I found one that is only 5 minutes from the dealership and another one that is only 15 away.

I called yesterday before I went to work and they are working on setting up an office for me to work in, right by the new, soon to be, Buell area!
I'm working on a list while I'm not at work of parts and cool stuff I want to have them stock for me, or should I say, for you.

I'll be spending my first few days getting set up with vendors, posting contact info, ordering T-shirts,helmets and other good stuff to sell.
I will be continuing the ever popular 10% Badweb discount and will be getting with Blake to be a sponsor of the site!

I already have had Peggy fax up the forms needed to start the new BRAG club and will be sending out a letter to all Buell owners on the dealerships list soon.

I do have a question for all of you that already belong to a BRAG club in Wi. What nights do you have your meetings. I don't want to have ours on the same night, hoping that some of you will come up for some of ours once in a while. And I would like to attend some of yours. I like to share with, and gather from, other groups, ideas, schedules, do some rides together and other things. I really like the idea of the different clubs doing things together!

Well, that's all for now, gotta go to work. I don't want to be late they might fire me!

Ride to the edge!

Well, I for sure will be up on the 15th (whether I bring the bike will depend on the weather). As far as conflicting with other BRAG groups, I don't think you will have a problem as there isn't one within 100 miles of Appleton.

So what will you be riding anyway???

I haven't decided yet?
Might be red or black or blue though!

See you on the 15th if not before.

"As far as conflicting with other BRAG groups, I don't think you will have a problem as there isn't one within 100 miles of Appleton. "

Appleton to Bonduel is 34 miles according to mapquest.

Daves,
You might want to get in touch with them for a friendly alliance sort of thing.

You might also want to get in contact with Charlotte for a rundown on the local roads up there, particularly the roads on the Rez's and rules to stay friendly with them. There are some nice roads up in the more northern regions of Wisc., you just have to discover them.

And a future event plan might include something around the Harley Tomahawk weekend. I think it's usually in September or October.

Just some thoughts.

Dave,

Here is a ride to try. Make your way on W Northland Ave. west to Hwy 45. Go south to Hwy 41. Take Hwy 41 south one interchange to Hwy 110. Take Hwy 110 north to Hwy 116. Just north of Butte des Morts. Take Hwy 116 east towards Winneconne. But take county road M north before you get into town. Take CR M to CR MM heading east. CR MM will wind around and take you to Hwy 110 again. Take Hwy 110 to Fremont. From Fremont take CR H south to Hwy 49. If you have time explore any of the Lettered roads west of Poy Sippi. There are some good ones out there. Then take Hwy 49 south to CR D. Take CR D Back to Hwy 116. Take Hwy 116 north through Winneconne to Hwy 110. Make you way from there back to Appleton.

When you have time check out the Kettle Moraine Senic Drive. www.kmoraine.com/WhatlsKM.htm Take it easy the first through. And maybe the second and third times also.: ) The signs can easily be missed. And there are lots of 10 and 15 mph corners in places and the woods comes right up to the edge of the road.

Congrats and Good Luck in your new position.
Kim

Oh one more thing.

Ask the locals when the Lake Fly seasons are and avoid the area around Lake Winnebago during these times. It gives a whole new meaning to eating bugs.

That's not eating bugs... That's like driving through moving hamburger... I ride 175 from Milwaukee to Appleton all the time. The stretch between FonDuLac and Oshkosh next to the lake requires a can of bug remover for your forehead.

Dave....I think I have your first order for you. A young lady at work is in the market for a 2004 Sportster 883 Custom. Her husband rides a Night Train (I think). She knows what she wants and is looking to purchase from Appleton. I told her to wait until you started. Figured you could use a sale in your first week : D

If she orders a new bike in mid-April, will she able to get a mid-June delivery date?

I will have to check when I get up there.
That would be too cool if I can hook her up!

Thanks!

Well today is my last day here in Waterloo.
Kind of a sad day for me, leaving all my friends here.
It has been a great 6 years here and I only hope that it will be this good in Appleton.
It's going to be hard to punch out today at 4:00 and leave for the last time.

I will be moving to Appleton next Weds and starting work Thursday morning.
I'll have internet as of Weds afternoon in Appleton and be able to make my first post from my new apartment.
Going to be pretty lonely without my wife and dogs with me.

Ride to the edge!

Dave, I feel for you in the lonely department brother. I miss my dog & wife badly.

If I may pass along a piece of advice? We've found that if we get the whole family in a chat room a few times a week it really helps with the loneliness. So, I can be on the road in Wherever, my two daughters in college, wife and son at home and we have virtual family get togethers. It's not a replacement for being there, but it surely does help and you don't have the $500.00+ phone bills.

Good luck and may God bless you in your new venture!

Greg

I noticed you listed your dog first!
Yes, Penny and I have already talked about emailing each other every day. Just not the same as hearing her voice so I guess we'll be spending a lot on cell bills for the next couple of months.
I'm planning on coming home to Waterloo most weekends and just spending the week in Appleton.
It's going to be hard but we will make it work until all of us can move north.

Ride to the edge!

Dave....if you need to "get out" for whatever, give me a shout. I'm only about 20 minutes north of Kaukauna. You'll have to stop up for dinner some night. You can play with my dog all you want (but the wife is mine : D )

See ya sometime in the next few weeks!
