A word of warning first, the description of their music on the myspace page the link takes you to is definitely NSFW...

With that said, when I was back home for Harley-Davidson's 105th anniversary I met up with a classic Buell riding buddy and we hit my favorite (non-biker) bar in Milwaukee. Formerly known at The Sanctuary, now it's called Club Anything. Just look for the big ? and you've found it. Anyways, there was this AWESOME band called Trick Pretty performing at Club Anything. The description on their myspace page is spot on, and they sound even better live with the music being MUCH LOUDER. I keep hoping that they will release a CD, and that one of my friends back home will hook me up... Until then the only place I can find anything on them is their myspace page.

It may not be everyone's cup of tea but I totally dig it!

I'm big on Blondie. And guess what, I'm drawn to bands that sound like them too...

The following is a list of Indie to almost mainstream bands that sound like Blondie/Debbie and/or credit them for musical influence.

Aphra's Cat
Girls Love Shoes
I Am The World Trade Center
Janelle Monae
Manda and The Marbles aka Manda & The Marbles
Metric
Monsters are Waiting
Taxi Doll
The Cardigans
The Dollyrots
The Ting Tings

Find these on eMusic and AmieStreet (cheaper)
or at iTunes/Amazon

+1, Webb Wilder. Got the Yee-Haw print of the credo hanging on my wall.

+1, Oingo Boingo. I got skeletons in the closet. I love little girls. Nothing bad ever happens to me. This is my private life. c1989.

Scott Miller and the Commonwealth.

Doug Harris "The Dirty Dougs"

Anyone got any New Legends? With the bassist from Tuatara? I've lost a compilation 2CD called "The Best of Cookin'". Best track on the set, and there are many.
Great find, lemme know if you find mine.

The Golden Palominos
The October Project
Animal Logic
Crowded House (My favorite pop band, saw them live in 1985 on their first tour. Hate that Paul Hester killed himself. Also saw the first show after he left the band. Dude was a great drummer and accompanist, sang great harmony, irreplaceable. (Sheryl Crow opened for them at 328 performance hall in Nashville- her drummer graciously, and intrepidly, played all night, their set too, and did Paul's job best he could.)

Level 42.

Cyrus Chestnut. Check out his remake of a Peanuts Christmas. My favorite holiday music.

Jeff "Tain" Watts.

'Nuff geekin for now.

The Kills

Just the singer, guitar player, and a drum machine.

I'm a sucker for dirty brunettes with attitude.
