Dude,

Kakhis are the epitome of what Harley stands for. Harley riders are bare-chested (especially the women), hairy knuckled, tobacco chewing, long haired, anti-socialites. Or so Harley would want everyone to believe. So kakhis just don't fit the bill.

Plus, those rich CEO types buying Harleys already have multiple pairs in their closet.

Bubba,
Thanks for taking care of Ted. You're the best.

They may have multiple pairs, but they don't have any with fringe or flames... I'm seeing this in the next "motorclothes" catalog.

Do they have extra pockets for the cellphone & the palm-top?
And a very conspicuous badge?
And a matching waist-coat?

Elton John's unreleased single -

Have You Seen the Chrome Tonight?

Hear the thunder coming
The riders on their way
The exhaust of the rolling world
Won't be turned away

Never a quiet moment,
When the Harleys are around
It's not enough for those restless warriors
To live with just stock sounds

And have you seen the chrome tonight
It's anywhere they are
It's enough for that bare-chested wanderer
That they've chromed their bars
And have you seen the chrome tonight
The Harley rider's fix?
It's enough to make Road Kings and leather thongs
Without khakis in the mix.

There's a Harley made for everyone
Not you? Then buy a Buell
Leave them behind in the twisted mountain pass
And make them feel a fool

They say there is no feeling
Like the wind upon their skin
Until their t-shirt and shorts meet asphalt
And the gravel is ground in

And have you seen the chrome tonight
Blinding those near and far
It's enough for that hairy-knuckled bike rider
To be seen at the bar
And have you seen the chrome tonight
They think it gets them chicks
It's enough to make V-Rods and tiny bras
Without khakis in the mix.

It's enough to make Evos and bandanas
Without khakis in the mix.

- the single comes with all CD-player equipped bikes. Reserve yours today!

Eh, works either way - but there damned well won't be any Elton John Buells running around. Where would you mount the speakers?

I went to Milwaukee for that 100th shindig (got free tickets from a buddy that works at Harley PDC, lots of cool stuff, wait till you see what they have in store for the VROD and the Sporty...). Best quote I heard from the night was from a guy with a Liverpool HOG Chapter patch on his jacket: "I shipped my bike all this way, spent two months riding around America to see what this place is about, only to see a show headliner that doesn't even ride a goddamn motorbike..."

This is Elton John we're talking about, I'll give you 3 guesses where the speakers mount!
(clue, you'll be more comfortable riding standing up!)
