I just learned last night the local HD shop stopped selling Buells! I was there about a month ago, test rode the 1125r and have come to the conclusion I was going to buy one. I just wanted to wait to see what the '10's had to offer. Now the closest dealer is about an hour away. What a hassle! It also looks like they sold their inventory to a place in Dunmore PA.

What a bummer. I actually feel kind of betrayed. I bought my current bike there, have it serviced there and buy my gear there.

On a side note, with the exception of on salesman the rest of the crew there didn't know crap about Buells or cared too. The service dept sucked, would order wrong parts and so on. In a way it could be a blessing.

Sorry for the scattered rant, just kind of pissed actually.

Utica did it too. Went to test a 1125R and only Buell left was used.

Yabbut - a "convenient" dealer that doesn't give a sh*t compared to a dealer ONLY an hour away who does?

No comparison.

(still a bummer but good you found out NOW)

I assume that you saw FB's post on Fly and Ride. What a deal - The only problem you might have is crashing trying to keep up with those guys on a new bike and really tight roads.

You rang? : D

RC,

Take a pleasant trip down to TN. We'll be happy to hook you up with an 1125R. We have 2008, 2009, and soon will have 2010's.

I'd love to introduce you to eastern TN, northern GA.

And your new bike.

Wow FB, not only do you make me want to buy a Buell from you, I'm now considering a career change into bike sales ; )

I think the fact that he still has '08's would make me reconsider the career change.

We all still have '08s.

It has nothing to do with the career, or the ability of the sales staff...it's the market, and the press from the early '08s. The only way I've been able to convince folks (and so far I'm batting .1000 with this method) that an '08 is perfectly fine once all the updates are done, is to put their asses in the seat and go for a ride.

If anybody's in MD, come by and see me. I've got a couple left, brand new, all the required updates done and ready to go. Wanna go for a ride? Give me an excuse to get away from this computer!! : )

...and Lemon? It's still *work*, don't let anyone kid ya. I thought "wow, cool, playing with motorcycles all day" when I started in the biz.

Not so much.

We still get to play...but more often than not, we spend gorgeous Saturdays and Sundays locked to a desk while everybody and their brother files through the showroom telling us what a great day it is to ride. While we sit indoors. Not riding. Again.

It's not all bad...but it ain't all roses, either.

Buell dealers here still have some '08's, and the '08 demo's are all coming onto the market too. I've noted that Aprilia and KTM dealers have '08's too though. Some very good prices around at the moment.

I meant it more as a compliment to FB, his enthusiasm shows through : ). I understand, it's still work, and saturdays and sundays when everyone else is out playing would be a drag.
I don't mind what I do, I work with great people, but it can be hard to get passionate about commercial air-conditioning! Maybe it might be time for a career change in 2 or 3 years from now... : )

"I think the fact that he still has '08's would make me reconsider the career change."

If the right people make the career change, I doubt there would be many '08s left. The brand deserves people like FB who really want to be selling Buells.

Dick8008, I feel ya brother. I went to my local dealer, The one with the big Buell sign, and they had one 08 cr on "clearance" And the Buell section (back corner) is filled with Harleys. So now I have to decide if I want to go there for service or drive to a dealer that sells buells..
The funny thing is that I had my buddy from work talked into test riding a Buell instead of an r6, but they didn't have any...

LOL- what Vern said.

+1, what Ratbuell said. In my new job I'm off on Sundays generally, if I can afford not to work (rarely) I can always give up Saturday. This past Sunday I stopped by my old shop, walked around and said hi to all my old work "family". Went over to the Shed and got a PBR tallboy, went and sat on a rocking chair out front til the beer was gone.

I felt guilty later for enjoying myself whilst all my old buddies were plugging to make a sale.

Until I got my next beer.

Motorcycle sales ain't no cakewalk, ain't easy by a stretch.

Good on ya again Jeremy- go get 'em!!

I quit the big box store, I actually get to ride more, but I am still stuck in the shop on saturday. Sundays & Mondays are mine, the rest of the week is by appointment only. So I do have more free time. Pay is about the same.
But you are the fat kid in the sand box when everyone else is playing soccer.
