Im in the market for a truck and came across this.

98 f150 nascar edition
4.6l v8
59,000miles
1 owner
$7500 taxe title out the door price

i went to check it out and it is in great shape, just need new tires. Runs great, but it seems to hang in the rpms between 2nd and 3rd. not sure if this is supposed to happen or not, never drive another to compare to. So what does anyone think. Is it worth it?

Gotta love that Metric trans from ford. Thats how they usually shift. At least all that I have owned. Its a good trans, as long as you change the fluid.

If it is already hanging up between shifts the tranny is probably toast. I just went through this with my Ranger, had to replace the whole tranny. The only way it would be worth it is if you bought an extended warranty that covered the tranny.
