I rode through a couple miles of flooded roads yesterday. Hitting deepish water at around 45mph is a real eye opener. The handlebar went dead for a split second and my feet got blasted off the pegs. I passed cars the entire way home until this jerk van driver I passed came back and shot in front of me...then slowed down . The other lane was way too deep to ride in.

In front of the house the deflected water off the front wheel temporarily blinded me like I was going through a waterfall until I slowed to a crawl.

It was interesting hearing the underwater exhaust note .

Got to love Florida summers...

I've had my bike axles deep more times than I care to admit..

Love it...

Downtown Tampa is the worse! Better get your wave runners out.

I travel the state of Florida on business and its not fun getting caught on deep water streets or hitting large deep hidden puddles on the highway.

One of my pet peeves is people creating wakes without thinking about people in adjacent lanes. I have had wakes splash up to the window on more than one occasion. You just keep it steady and pray your car doesn't stall.

I don't mind the rain at all...in fact I enjoy it much of the time. The only downside is how rough it is on my leather gear to get wet almost daily. I'm gettin' me some more suitable rain gear here soon. My fancy boots and gloves no likee the wet.

I've actually only had to ride in water this deep a few times.

Yeah, Neil...We took vacation in Phoenix to see wifey's dad and fell in love with the area. Palm trees, mountains, 6 hours from West Coast Choppers (lol)...The job market aint too shabby either!

Plus, UTI is located here, so my dream career of hot rodding is a bit more tangible. More stuff to do with the kids, twisties / scenic rides galore, huge rockabilly scene, tons of classic cars...the list goes on and on.
Ive lived all over the world, and this is the best yet.

As far as Buelltoberfest goes, not this year, but I see an ironbutt in my future. Maybe Buelltoberfest 2010.

Hell yeah its hot Jesse, but its a dry heat. Arizona's 105 feels like Florida's 90. Im stoked to get away from the land of constant swampcrotch.

And my Impala will rust no more!!!
