Well that was sweet. Rocket is home again.

Just a note about the rules, Blake has stated them many times. If his Mom-In-Law, Boss, or niece would not be comfortable reading it, it don't belong. Blake's rules apply in Blake's sandbox. If you need uncensored discussion about lifes problems other than your Buell (and really, ain't that enough problems for one BBS?) there are other places. SacBorg and LaBusas offer wildly entertaining discussion, with graphics, about everything under the sun. Not much bike talk, but hey, who's got the bandwidth.

we now return to our regular scheduled program.

Rocket,
Missed meeting you at Aaron's ranch a few years ago because of work, but I've gotten a real kick out of the posts from a few years back. I'm not sure what all the stuff recently was about, but as a few said, the words you wrote are awesome.

The pic of you riding around on Aarons lawn tractor was kick ass too.

What is the deal with the S1? That thing looked awesome!

"Pussy"

LOL, that was my first thought too.

Congrats on being able to admit you were wrong. Some day I might be able to also...if I ever am wrong that is.

I've often suspected that Blake and Dyna wer really the same person in two separate bodies.

Yet again I am vindicated. Was defending Rocket to Donut and he wasn't buying it, then he sees this and was just blown away.

Point Tom.

I always say, "People are nice with a very few notable exceptions"

Actually I don't, when I talk it is more often something rude, crass, churlish or even downright misogynistic because I have a sick and warped sense of humor similar to Rocket's but deep in my heart I am always thinking it.

Shit, too much sensitivity, I can feel my breasts growing and I think I'm starting to ovulate.

And it still does!

I will open a thread soon, dedicated to my S1W endeavours. Suffice to say, she is well on her way to recovery, and I probably won't be getting rid. In fact, I'm thinking MORE POWER! More later, thanks.

Why would I do that Alex?

I shoulda built the damn thing myself first time around. At least that way it wouldn't have had the wrong circlips in her.

You know, there's nothing in my motor that I didn't request when she was first built. I think my choices worked well too. End of the day it's careful choices and attention to detail during construction. The other factor to get right is head tuning. I chose Dick O'Brien because he'd done some heads previously for Just Harleys and they were having good results with them on the strip. That said, I didn't know Wes and Pammy or Brian back then. Back in 1999, 100 rwhp was something from a stock bore.

Last time I looked Aaron himself wasn't revered for head tuning though his dyno operating is to be hailed as the way it should be done. That's Aaron's strong point, his pursuit of that last grain of HP. Other than that, anyone with a little bit of mechanical knowledge can throw one of these motors together . Whether it will work properly afterwards is up to the way you did it and what you chose. That said, mine 'll probably grenade again LOL

And you'll just build it all over again, I'm guessing, with MORE POWER! : ) Of course, you could always set a hard limiter at say 4500 RPM or so, and it would last a good long time but what fun would that be? And I still wouldn't be able to catch you ; ) I think I can recognize everyone that made Buellganza '02 from the back of their helmet and taillights.
Sean good to see you back in fine form and glad the CF S1 is on it's way back as well. btw Alex, that's Ross (Pilot) our Down-Under friend, on the lawn tractor.

Rocket,

Man, I always miss the good shit... posts removed, people returning to their corners after being scolded by the BadWeb masses and me left trying to figger out what the hell all my buds were arguing about.

Rocket, I've disagreed with you more times than you'll ever know but I respect your sincerity and honesty.

I keep thinking I'll stop by here one day and that Memorial page will be up and BluzM2 will have started a blues discussion page. I'm currently out of the Buell loop but this is ultimately the best group of riding friends I've ever had. ; )

Absolutely!

Rocket,

I have }never met a group of people like this. There ain't a stupid one here. I don't do divorce well and I ended up isolating myself for a couple of years, but when it was time to return to the functioning world I came here first. It was as though I had never left.

And it's because of who these people are on the inside is why I have never regretted spending my Buell Reunion replacing their forks springs.

Ask Pammy about the time she and I slept together. Oops!

Ok Mr Bantz,
Ya got me... I never even thought of starting a Blues section here..
As soon as I get back from the WCHA Final Five games today, I'll start a section in the Quick vault.
Maybe I can get some long burning questions regarding the Blues answered...

This could be good!

Dang it, Ross got to ride the mower, Sean got to ride the mower, how come I didn't get to ride the mower???? : (
Andy, I don't do divorce well either - since we're getting all warm, fuzzy and confessional:
The paperwork on my divorce finalized in July '02. I moved back to Philly a couple of years before that, to "save the marriage" and be near both of our families, and it was clear right from the start it wasn't going to work. Geography wasn't the problem. Or it was - I was stuck in a town I didn't like, with my friends, my band, and my job, somewhere else. The only person I knew was my ex, and well, that wasn't gonna fly. After the divorce, my sister and her boyfriend tried to introduce me to this cute girl they knew, but it wasn't happening. Schedule, my attitude, whatever. Then Bonneville got rained out. I hopped on the bike, and of to Casa Wilson I went. All these people I'd never met, except on BadWeb, treated me like a long lost brother. Aaron borrowed pieces from Susan's dyna to dyno my bike ("found" 8 hp, too). I also still have the washer he gave me shimming up one side of the rear fender on the S2 - it started rubbing the tire on the way to St. Louis and put a nice coating of c/f on it - Aaron just said "oh, yeah, they do that. Hand built bikes. Let me see what I have."
The ride back was long, cold, and better than therapy. Crazy Horse, Rushmore, East Troy, and a lot of cold windy roads. I stopped at the Cabella's superstore in SD, since I was dressed for the 90 degree weather in Philly when I left, and I can still hear the elderly saleslady saying, when she saw me with my helmet "oh dear, your not riding a motorcycle in this weather, are you? How much further do you have to go?" When I said Philadelphia her eyes bulged and then she grabbed my sleeve and said "Well, lets go to hunting first, and then we'll look in snowmobiles. Here, I'll carry your helmet, you'll need it to try on the baclava."
She hooked me up, too. (Almost) toasty warm the rest of the way.
As I blitzed across the upper Mid West, no tunes, no talk radio, 12 or more hours a day, I had a lot of time to think, and and a lot of time to _not_ think. About how I had been treated by strangers at every turn, about people who I'd never met opening their homes to me, sharing meals, drinks, stories, advice and travel tips, and laughs with me. More importantly, they showed genuine concern. I arrived back home, got unpacked, and the first thing I did was check BadWeb. There was a post by Bob (X1Glider) asking "where's philly?" and a thread asking everyone to check in to make sure they arrived home safely. And it persists to this day - witness the TedK fund (I know, I know, I'm waiting on a freelance check - darn 30 day net shyte). Genuine concern for each other as human beings. Outside of our lives as Buell riders. The incredible motorcycles Erik Buell built are only the reason we got together, not the reason we stay together.
I got back from my trip, and a few weeks later ran into the girl I met in July. We hung out, talked, watched football, played cards, for a couple of months, finally went out on a date, and we're getting married in October. I don't think that would have happened without the trip to CO. I let go of a lot on the trip, truly learned what's past is past. And I struggle every day to remember that today is the day that truly matters. Not what happened yesterday, last week, last year, last decade or century, and not what _might_ happen in the future. Plan but adapt. Racing gets rained out, and a bunch of foreigners have invaded the Greater Denver area? Well I guess I better hop on the bike or I'll miss the BBQ. Not happy with the city of Philadelphia? Well, I'm getting the house ready for sale and scoping out relocation prospects right now. And I know that no matter where I land, I'll always know someone. I'm humbled when I flip through my cell phone looking for a number, and there's Court, Henrik, Josh, Bob - Hey you haven't called in a while, bud - I got a call in work one day from Bob from Korea - he couldn't sleep. Once he was stuck in traffic, going to a "Philly Steak" place in TX, wanted to let me know they had "BBQ Cheesesteaks" on the menu. : ) But as I make plans for the future, think about where I want to live and work, kids and the like, I realize it's not important. Geography isn't important. What is important are the people you are with, the people you call friends. I've been luckier than I have any right to be because I can call some of the finest people walking the face of the earth my friends, both on and off BadWeb.

Close, I think the "-netics" is in the ballpark. I recently was apprised of the fact that Hubbard was very fond of motorcycles, and usually had several at hand. Someone I met who knew him said he might occasionally ride in excess of the posted limit, but I'm sure that was strictly "Professional driver, closed course" like it is with all of US.

Hey Philly, you hit the nail on the head. I'm divorced too, (truck drivers disease)
My now wife & I tried living near to my daughter but it just made everyone miserable, so we moved back to France.
Now I see her less often but for longer and she gets the adventure of going abroad & everyone's happy. It's quality not quantity that counts.
I've made friends on the Badweb that I've never met, yet! but I'll get around to it sometime so watch out!
