My pleasure, Ted. What you're going thru is my worst nightmare and I don't think I'd be as upbeat as you are. All the best, my friend, and good luck proving those doctors wrong.

Al

I am so sick of being poked & proded, pills, people and not being able to get up. This sucks, I'd like to go home now. This must be hell.

say the word ted and we will get ya home.
Hang in there brother ..it ain't hell but its close...I mean you are in hotlanta right?
asa a guy I understand the poked and proded thingy...its always more fun being the poker and the proder , rather than the pokee and prodee..

I will call ya later I thought of something that may get you home. Give us those stupid insurance specs so we can build the ramps....If they don't meet up to there liking we will fix it.

but guess what Buddy this is america and if you want to go home you can. They can not stop you. We will get that shoulder heeled up and then get you back to atlanta to finish rehab.

just say the word and all the lilly livered fools that think your road will be 2 tought...well its less than a quarter mile long and then you are sitting on your front porch.

or you can stay there and stair at the walls.
It is up to you. sorry if I sound harsh but you now how I am.
this is your decision, nobody elses, not mom or dad, or sisters or anyone else. I might have talked to a little birdy who informed me of some of this stuff.
Ted you have full mental capacity and you have not sign over power of attorney. you make the call, and if some don't like it, you know what I say....fuck'em, if they love you they will trust you. it is your life Ted.

say the word, thats all it takes
you have to take care of yourself

Hang in there Ted... take it minute by minute and day by day. Adjust, adapt, overcome.

And let us know if we can do anything to help... Want us to stir up a good "synthetic versus dyno" debate? Or maybe something about WD-40? Surely we can come up with some sort of entertainment for you ; )

Ted,
Next time they come in to poke and prod you imagine that they are fixin to roll you over, elevate your ass and insert a big giant chilly metal rectal probe, and all with a bunch of interns watching and taking notes. Then when reality turns out to be anything less than that, it will be no big deal and actually a big relief. You have seen one of those big giant chilly metal rectal probes haven't you? TMI!! joker

Or here's a more pragmatic approach if you are able. Make the pokers and prodders share in your anguish... beans and sauerkraut for lunch, save up the noxious reward for THE opportune moment... <poke/prod>.... <BPHRAAAPPPPP> Yeah bay-bee!

Hang in there man, this stage of your recovery won't last forever and most likely their poking and prodding is so they can try to help you. If we could we'd be volunteering to stand in for ya; imagine if we could take turns poking and prodding Bubba. The line to do so might be endless. I can see all the guys at D&D waiting for the chance... "Drummer EH? How you like this Drummer boy? <POKE> Outperforms D&D EH? <PROD>" heheheh

Thanks for checking in. Anything we can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask.

Ted -- I know it's tough, man, but so are you . . . .just take everything they through at ya, and like the man said, overcome . . . .

the poking andd prodding are a bitch, but likely part of the program . . . . .could be they're tryin to piss you off to the point where you'll get better jsut to get out!

stay strong

Ted tell the nurse you need Prune Juice and to slightly warm it up drink it with one gulp..and the shots in the belly ask the nurse to put ice in a glove (tie a not in it of course) and to place it on your stomach 5 minutes before they give the shot to you it helps with the discomfort!!!! That is if its the blood thinner shot I mean!
Glad to hear your doing better the Mr and I (Bads1) are thinking of you often!!!

Ted,

I can't wait to meet you brother. Concentrate on the short-term goals -- one minute, two minutes, 20 minutes, etc, etc, etc.

Keep the faith. We're praying for you.

Hey Ted, Here's your ramp:

Ted's Ramp

Terry instigated it. With out him, it wouldn't have happened.
Larry designed it, made the cuts, and told Terry & me what to do.
I did what I was told. Tote that barge, Lift that bale, Carry that board, & Hammer that nail.} My right fore arm was sore for 3 days after using that nail gun. What a wimp.

Larry really knows what he's doing. It's very sturdy and well made. Terry came back the next morning and poured a concrete pad at the bottom.

But wouldn't you know it? No sooner was it finished than some hooligan rode his freakin' M2 motorbike up the ramp and onto the deck.

We're going to do some star gazing from your front yard this summer! I've got 3 telescopes, rarin' to go. Too bad we can't cut down that tree next to the deck to give us more night sky, but we found out it gives great shade on a hot summer's day.
