I'd like to know more about the wreck. What sort of moron cage driver sees 4 bikes go past him then turns left in front of the 5th? I doubt he ever checked his mirrors. Then again, if the car was turning left he couldn't have been going all that fast. Since WY has no helmet law and this is the start of the Sturgis Rally, was Rossmeyer wearing anything more than a t-shirt and sunglasses? I know from experience that with the right gear on you can survive some pretty scary $hit. Tragic loss, none the less. I hope the dealership and racing program continue unchanged. |

this will be one of those accidents that puts helmet wearing on the map again for congress. i only talk to him once at daytona, and that was in passing, but he was cool enough to stop for a sec and tell us thanks for what we do(we were there in uniform for a flyby), nonetheless he was cool enough to stop for us when many didn't even acknowledge us cause of the amount of people in the store. anyways he will be missed RIP |

From what the most in depth report says, the truck/trailer slowed and signaled while the bikes decided to pass. Not the brightest move by the bikers, if those details are indeed true. Also, a helmet may have been a lifesaver too. However, I agree the cager must have been a really bad driver, or more likely really old, to have 4 bikes pass and not be EXTREMELY careful that there are no more passing before making the left hand turn death move. Also, it appears that Bruce was the 5th out of 6th rider. The 6th rider escaped to the right. It really doesn't matter who's fault. RIP Bruce. |

We all need to remember that a lot of guys who were 100% in the right are still dead. Still hard to believe he's gone. In this day and age, very few people actually do what they say, but you could always count on what Mr. Rossmeyer said. I'd like to express my family's sincere condolences to Will and Shelly and the rest of the Rossmeyer family during this most difficult time. |

It is a fairly common occurance around farm country to have a tractor or combine turn left while being passed. I learned pretty quick to not pass at any drive or farm entrance. There is a reason that farming is one of the most dangerous job. |
