I want to use the silver oval that says “BadWeB” in it as the icon that sits next to the name of this place in my Favorites list but, woe is me, I don’t have a copy of that picture on my hard drive. You know the one, it’s kind of a rip-off of the Buell logo.

I just know, deep down in my heart, that one of you nice folks not only knows what the heck I’m talking about but also has that picture on file somewhere. If that’s you, would you please take a moment to post it. Better yet, take the time to convert it to an .ICO file and post that too.

Any other suggestions for icons?

Thanks, Ray

Mercy, you're fast! Thank you.

I converted that picture to an icon and it's bretty neat, but I can't seem to upload it as either an image or a file. If you want to use it I'd be happy to e-mail it to you.

I'm working on artwork for a patch for my shindig this summer, if Blake's cool with it, I can piggyback some Badweb patches with the others.

GLITCH... Where did ya get yours made, buddy??? I need to have a place to make them pretty soon.

Blake,
Any problems with making a badweb patch? I can head this one up, I have a whole lot of time at school this spring to sip brews and put patches in envelopes for everyone...

I'd like to see a badge too.

MadGaz,
I agree completely. I was just volunteering to have them made and take care of shipping them and all. We have quite a few different charities that are circling the board right now, the TedK fund, my American Cancer Society one, and a few others. I'd definitely agree that proceeds should go to one of them, both, etc.
Alex

Blake,
What are your thoughts?

Put me down for a patch as well, and if it's going to be done, why not do it big? How about Tshirts with Glitch's pegasus on the back & the badweb logo on the breast? I'll have 2!

Actually I was thinking of patches to also support the BADWEB - this stuff don't come cheap! A lot of forums have 'expensive' support patches that also have part of the proceeds supporting the Forum - a $25.00 patch would be about right - lol - just a thought guys - and part of the initial proceeds could go to a charity of Blake's choosing - if he so desired - I've been on this board for a few years now and so have a lot of you - it would be a way of giving something back - Blake could make a patch buyer/donator list page for the folks that want such a thing (as being listed - me I don't care but I just thought I'd throw it out there) - lol

Ehhmm, $25 for a patch might be just a tad too steep.

Knock that down into the $7 range & you have a winner.

Actually a lot of the sites I was talking about charge 30 and more and get it. Hey - if I thought the BADWEB had ever done a dis service to anyone here - I'd a thought less for the money part - but for what you are getting on a daily basis - a one time 25 dollars for a patch to show support is a pretty good deal any way you look at it.

Decals would probably be easy to get too... I somehow remember having this conversation before, but I don't think any plans went any further.

I'll send out a few emails to places to see what we're looking at cost wise for some of this stuff.

Glitch,
How are the T-shirt plans coming?

WOW. Never thought I'd get a reaction like this.
But to put a few things in focus maybe, or at least up for debate.
Someone has started, maintains and pays for this site and has done so for some time to every members benifit. Spose i can also assume that there is a cost. (to whom i have no idea)
There are charities that have benifitted from the good hearts of all, and can I also assume that a list of charites can be quickly put together.
And yet another assumpion is that somewhere in the US, a member of badweb has a screen print/embroudery business that may be able to make such things for a reasonable cost.
I for one will have a patch, 3 shirts, and a classy metal badge for starters.
If all these assumptions were to come to fruition, I have no problem giving 10% of the proffits made go to badweb to ensure that the site stays alive especialy the knowlege vault. Valuable now, priceless in 5 years when i have a problem that needs a special insight. The rest?either evenly shared between nominated and accepted charities or, every month the remaining 90% go to "Charity of the month".
That way, my favouite cause maybe kids with cancer, I can spend my money that month and know its going to a cause i beleive is deserving.
Just a thought.

Badweb will not.

By the way, patches are cheap to buy. If you need a contact, let me know.

Ah - Court the fee for the patch is just a way of showing support - one forum has a $40.00 patch and I'm pretty sure 9/10th's of the folk have never asked for or even recieved their patch, however, they have a shit load of 'patch owners' - lol - I mean its not like you have to buy the patch - it would just be a good way in doing so to show support.
I'm not trying to push this, but a group patch would be cool and if it could also benifit - nespa? Hell - I'd also like to see a whole line of BADWEB stuff - hats, t-shirts, decals, etc. - but I could be happy with just a patch - lol

Keep the price low & make up any costs by selling in volume.

I like Courts statement.

a great idea, I'll take 2 patches, a decal if they ever come around, and 2 t-shirts if they come to be also...
I like the donation idea, 10% to the badweb and the rest to charity sounds good.

I'd be OK with the idea of having some sort of a "Premier Membership" for a donation.

I'm sure that in the long run I'll get more help from the BadWeB than from the American Cancer Society or United Way, and I'd just as soon send a few $$'s to Blake as anywhere else. I'd be happy to wear a patch or T-shirt if that came in return for the donation but it's not as important as seeing that the BadWeB continues to exist.

Oh, speaking of T-shirts: I got my Streetfighter shirt from Buell today. Pretty cool, huh!

The outlaw patches I had made for Brew City were in the $3.75-$4.00 range. I sourced them through a local shop.

As for BWB patches, I agree with Court that they should be that high. While they may support a good cause, BWB has sponsors that pay good money to keep this thing up and running. A BWB patch should support a BWB "cause". I'm thinking Team Elves or some other race/motorcycle organization. Maybe the airfence fund.

Just my thoughts.

Will the charities/race teams or whatever be all US based or will the rest of the world get a look in too?
I'm OK for a Premium membership system with a patch included if it's a worldwide thing, if not will the rest of us who don't live in the states have to pay through the nose for a patch? or will we get the patch at a reduced price because we don't live in the US?
If the patches, tshirts, whatever, are going to help keep Badweb going, well thats fine.
But if our fees/donations, call it what you like are going to be shared out outside, who is going to decide who gets what?
I'm not trying to stir up trouble here, but I can foresee a whole lot of problems in making a fair system work.
To my mind, the best way is to sell the merchandise at normal prices & anyone who wants to help a charity can start a thread for it, ex the Ted K fund.
Thats my view anyway, y'all have a nice day now.
