Has anyone noticed something under Buell on the airbox? Any idea what it says? Looking at the white 1125R pic, on 3x zoom, it looks like its just accent slashes, not words. Its three of 'em, so "American Motorcycles" isn't back. On the Uly I thought it could be East Troy Wisconsin...but then the 1125R makes it look like its just pinstriping. Much like the lines in the bottom of the big "R" on the scoop. |

Moving right along... Don't get mad, Ed. You're a great Blast enthusiast and there are still a bunch of 'em out there. Buell is a great fellowship. And the company (and our experiences with it) is moving. It's all good. |

The old school Buell section is alive and kicking, and they haven't made any tubers since 2002. |

"The 1199 is a given Chili." You think? A penny for your thoughts? Any one care to guess a timeframe? My thoughts - On the one hand Buell have managed to get BPF forks and a bigger airbox etc approved by AMA, so they don't *need* it to go racing. On the other, the Blast cubing thing is about Buell getting back to original ideals of making sportsbikes and racing, and sets up the entrance for a hardcore sportsbike as a flagship of the range, something that goes head to head with Ducati 1198 etc. That could also open the door to World SBK. *If* they introduce an 1125/1199RR street bike I don't think this will change the rest of the range much. From other comments around the place *I* think XB's will be around for a few years yet, and the Uly is definitely here to stay. |

My thoughts aren't worth a penny. There have been repeated comments that Buell intends to "compete at the highest levels of racing". This ISN'T Daytona Sportbike. Unless they are able to coax 1198 numbers out of the 1125, I can't see them giving up the additional 74cc's allowed by the rules. I could still see room for a middleweight Helicon in the line-up. |

Ok, I see where you're coming from. They might be able to get the extra cc's through a special allowance from the AMA like they did with XBRR, but it would be a lot easier (and more credible in the market place) if they brought out a full 1200cc model. Couldn't hurt sales either. Middleweight Helicon seems a logical step for 2011 now, to replace Firebolt and/or some Lightning models. I'd be interested in one if the price was right |

Ahhh... sprung! I said "interested"! Of course anything beyond that would involve quite detailed pre-purchase "negotiations" Offering you the keys to X just isn't going to cut it, is it? Lol |

So everybody weigh in here, I have a little over 30 days until we leave for the salt. Think a tee shirt with the picture of the bike from 06 with the caption "The Worlds Fastest 650 cc Coffee Table" would go over? Not so much as a fund raiser, but just to wear and let people ask what's that all about. Let me know, Terry - Coffee-Table Dyno Guy |

Whew! What a thread up to this point. While, I was hoping for a little something more from the product lineup, I absolutely love BoB. I think it also reflects how I feel about BUell as a brand and myself as a Buelligan, good on you Buell for taking the risk to step out of the corporate box and speak directly to your customers. Add me to the list of Blast! cube wanters... Cool. --Sean |

Just a thought, since Buell didn't introduce anything new and the Blast cube thing they have going on there, do you think that they are trying to throw the public off the trail of some new cool model. The 1125r was not really a very well kept secret, so all this could just be a stunt. Maybe the release of something at Indy this year, again just a thought..... or is it? |

It would be kinda neat to have a mini-XB with a 500cc twin. Could run with the ninjette 250s. |

The coffee table is a 49 state model. CA requires an environmental impact study before it can be made available. |

Yabbut Ozzie - those of us with "Race Licenses" can order the cube through our dealers for use in CA - but ONLY for RACING. |

>>>Middleweight Helicon seems a logical step for 2011 now, to replace Firebolt and/or some Lightning models. That is unlikely. I and all my air-cooled, hydraulic lifter, low maintenance appreciating friends would be looking elsewhere for our next new motorcycle. There is a very good reason why Ducati and BMW sell both air-cooled and liquid cooled lines of motorcycles. Some folks still don't much care for radiators on motorcycles. |

I meant *some* XB models. There are currently six XB models plus the Police special. My speculation is that maybe an 825R could replace the XB12R, an 825CR could replace the XB9SX, but the Uly and SS and Scg would stay. I certainly can't see the Uly disappearing any time soon. I could of course be totally wrong. I'm starting to catch up on all the detail changes in the 2010 XB's, seems like Buell have been very busy, which would indicate they'll be around for a while yet. "Some folks still don't much care for radiators on motorcycles." I'm one of those folks, my X1 isn't going anywhere . I really like the 1125CR, but dread the thought of working on one... |

I agree I don't see a middle weight helicon... I can see another air-cooled V-twin to take the place of thunderstorm... Might be a good thing for Buell to even them selves from the mothership... |

I can easily see a smaller engined version of a Helicon based machine, maybe even a single. They could call it the Buell Nukyoular Blast. |

Maybe I just like the idea of a mid size Helicon because 146hp is way more than I need... which I guess makes an XB12Ss about perfect for me? But it's always fun dreaming about what would be the perfect bike or bikes in our own garage . A Helicon-based single would ROCK. I'm slowly working on a thumper cafe racer project of my own, but it will be a bit more basic than a modern bike. And air-cooled . |
