Just read this story today, and God gave me a job to do...

http://wcco.com/health/medical.mistake.military.2. 1092872.html

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,534050,00.html

I have two friends that intersect with this guy... Dave Barr who lost both legs, and proceeded to ride a Harley around the world, and Steve Sjogren, a rider that was pastor of a church I was at, that had this same botched surgery and still suffers badly as a result.

Anyway, Steve wrote a great book about his experience, and Dave wrote two great books about his. And personality wise, Dave and Steve are two of the perfect kind of people that I would want to reach out to me if I was ever in this kind of situation... Their successes seem unimpeded by facts.

So anyway, I can try white pages and other "try and find them" sources... but if anyone has an "in" and could help connect with Colton's family, I would like the whole thing to be a little more personal then just a random package in the mail.

Feel free to email me at bill at kilgallon family dot com or PM me if it would be more prudent to keep your help for me private.

Thanks!

I had no idea this was even possible - what an awful thing to have happen accidentally. I can't help you out any but wish you all the luck in doing so, and with this young man well.

spent a year up in gainesville working on a couple remodel's. the second was in the nursing home where Thelma Pennrose, a korean war nurse had live for quite a few years because she had to have a leg amputated. they went and took off the wrong one which meant she was going to be left with no legs. (they just transfered the doctor, no diciplinary action what so ever)the area of the nursing home that we were taking over was her little corner of the place and to try and make things easier for her, i got to know her. so during the next 5 months on occasion i would get her some decent dinner (she'd insist on buying once in a while)and spend some time with her cause the only family she had was up in pennsylvania. and although there was another lady that spent some time with her it was easy for me cause i was working there. for her birthday we took her to cracker barrel for breakfast. something she didn't get to do to often. it was a good feeling to help someone out in that kind of a situation and try to make a difference in her life. a short time after i got finished up there i went out to california for 4 months and on the way back i stopped to see her but she had passed away. she won't be forgotten.

reep, if you get the info that your looking for let me know, i'll get a card out to him.

A perfect example of healthcare run by the government.

Back in boot camp we had a guy with a scar from his giblets to his gullet. Fell through a skylight. We claimed a Navy surgeon took out his appendix. Best wishes for all these folk.

This is truly sickening. The doctor should be court marshalled, stripped of his license and locked up so he doesn't do it again.

Carmelo Rodriguez Military Medical Accountability Act (S. 1347 / H.R. 1478)

http://voices.injuryboard.com/medical-malpractice/ bill-introduced-in-us-senate-to-restore-rights-of- injured-servicemembers.aspx?googleid=265698

After I review this I am firing off an Email to Senator Schumer . This is truly barbaric on a level I did not think possible. It seems like we find new and more devious ways to tell our Service People to piss off on a daily basis. And this one CAN"T be chalked up to one person, administration or party, 60 years is long enough time for someone to have taken real notice and interest in this! I feel horrible for this man, his family and service people in his situation. I feel small, guilty and useless that I was not fully aware of such going ons and that as an American Citizen who this fine person has volunteered to protect I have helped fail that trust.

I believe this is wear a collective voice from all walks can make a difference. Badwebbers, what say you?
