RIP Walter Conkrite, the news man's news man.

I recall watching him as he announced the death of JFK. Then the funeral. I was six.

Vietnam was front and center. You could tell he cared.

I recall the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space missions including the moon landing from his voice.

The shows all ending "That's the way it was, what ever day it was, all ending in Ninteen Seventy One" or what ever year it was.

No mater what we have done, or who we are, as generation 'X'ers, we are certainly a TV generation. So many we have grown with are checking out lately. Maybe that means we are getting old?.....Nah.....that's why I ride a Buell and not a geezer glide.
